College Basketball begins soon and it is time to look at the odds for winning the National Championship in the 2017-18 season.
NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP ODDS
Duke (+400) Grayson Allen returns and many forget how good of a player he really is. Instead, people focus on some negatives that he has done. He is joined by Marvin Bagley III, Wendell Carter, Trevor Duval and Gary Trent Jr. This team averaged 80 points per game and that may be difficult to do again. The defense allowed 72 points and will need to do better with four players gone from last season that averaged 47 points combined.
Michigan State (+600) The Spartans are stacked and loaded as coach Tom Izzo is ready to return to the Final Four. Last season he wasn’t happy with the effort of his team. Miles Bridges shocked people by returning and not going to the pros. Gavin Schilling returns after an injury and new recruit Jaren Jackson, Jr will provide defense and wide open shooting.
Kentucky (+750) Head coach John Calipari has restocked his one-and-done players and is armed for another basketball season. Kevin Knox and P.J. Washington will be the main leaders for the Wildcats. Hamidou Diallo decided not to go pro and is back for another season.
Arizona (+900) This might be their year. Coach Sean Miller has Allonzo Trier and Rawie Allen to provide much to what is needed to progress in the tourney. Also, Parker Jackson-Cartwright will handle all point guard duties for the Wildcats.
Kansas (+1600) Coach Bill Self gets it done year after year. He has Malik Newman and Billy Preston joining the team from elsewhere. Add those to Devonte Graham, Svi Mykhaililuk, and Lagerald Vick to round put a very good offensive team.
Missouri (+1600) The Tigers should put Porter House steaks in the concession stand as they got the prize with the addition of Michael Porter Jr. to their program. Say what you want but they hired his dad as an assistant coach. That is a very savvy move. Head coach Cuonzo Martin was quick to act.
North Carolina (+1600)
Wichita State (+2000)
