Are you ready for the final regular season college basketball Saturday? Let’s break down some of the best games on the slate.
#6 Kentucky -2.5 vs #18 Arkansas
When I hear the words college basketball, I think of the SEC in 2022. This conference has been sensational and will be well represented in the NCAA Tournament. Arkansas will host Kentucky on Sunday, which will be an adamant game for the Wildcats.
Kentucky is just 13-15 ATS, and they have to cover -2.5 in one of the toughest environments in college basketball. The Razorbacks are 9-0 ATS in their past nine, and they have shown they can beat great teams at home like Auburn.
JD Notae has to come up big, and Arkansas must neutralize Oscar Tshiebwe. If this happens, I like the Razorbacks!
PICK: Arkansas +2.5
#20 Texas -3 vs West Virginia
I would not count out the Mountaineers at home because this spot is a great get-right game for the team against #20 Texas. Both teams have been very inconsistent as of late, but it’s best to bet the team that has been more consistent.
This award goes to the Longhorns by default because West Virginia has won one game in their past ten. Texas is also 14-5-1 ATS in their past 20 games against West Virginia, so they have dominated the series at home and on the road.
Timmy Allen leads the Longhorns, but they are an unselfish team, and that’s why they win tough games.
PICK: Texas -3
#3 Auburn vs #17 Tennessee -3.5
Auburn has been one of the best teams in college basketball this season. They lost on the road twice thus far at Arkansas and Florida. However, I would not judge the Tigers for these flaws. It’s tough to win in the SEC in 2021-22, and they have done it consistently.
Auburn is a 3.5-point dog because they have struggled late ATS. The team is 1-4-1 ATS, but they are 18-2 SU. This team wins games, so I will take the free 3.5 points. The Volunteers have been very good at home, but it’s going to be tough for them to win by four.
Jabari Smith, the freshman sensation, is averaging 16.2 PPG and 6.8 boards per game. He must be big in a tough spot on Saturday.
PICK Auburn +3.5
#7 Duke -7.5 vs Syracuse
The Duke Blue Devils have a tough road challenge at Syracuse on Saturday. However, I think Duke is going to send Coach K out on top at Syracuse. The Blue Devils will likely win this game, but the Orange will cover.
Duke is just 2-4 ATS in their last six games, compared to Syracuse, who is 6-2 SU in their past eight. They also have not lost in their past five games at home.
Buddy Boeheim is the star for the Orange, and he must be better than he was last time out against Duke. He is averaging 19 PPG but only had seven in their first meeting.
PICK: Syracuse +7.5
#5 Kansas vs #10 Baylor -4
Kansas and Baylor are very similar teams. However, if I had to put my trust in one program, it’s the Jayhawks. They have owned the past ten games against Baylor. Kansas is 7-3 SU in their last ten against the Bears.
They are also 6-1 SU and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games. Baylor is just 2-6 in their past eight ATS, so it’s a lot to ask them to beat a better team by four points.
If the Bears win, I think this game comes down to the wire. My trust is in Ochai Agbaji and the Jayhawks.
PICK: Kansas +4
