The Miami Hurricanes have finally secured their first appearance in the Final Four! The excitement and thrill in Coral Gables is at an all time high. This season has proved to be the best season in Miami’s Basketball program history.

The Star Players

Miami had put together an extremely well-rounded team compared to last season. This team has showed great maturity and intelligence in the court together. They are playing like one right now and showcasing some incredible talent.

One player who has been playing extremely well for the Canes is Guard Nijel Pack. Pack has been instrumental to helping Miami win their games by larger margins. Pack led the way in the game against Houston scoring 26 points and scoring 7 three’s to lead them past the 1 seed team. His impressive game saw him score 70% from the 3 which is a great percentage to score from long range.

Jordan Miller put together one of the greatest games in NCAA tournament history. Miller went perfect from the field, scoring 27 on 7/7 shooting against the Texas Longhorns. Jordan Miller’s perfect performance was the key reason that Miami was able to comeback and beat Texas to reach the Final Four.

Norchad Omier has shown how lethal and dominant he is on both ends of the floor. Being one of the best rebounders in College at the moment has been a huge help for Miami to keep the dance alive.

Omier’s rebound numbers have been wild as of late, in the game against the Hoosiers Norchad collected 17 rebounds. In the game against Houston, Norchad scored 12 points and 13 rebounds to close the game out.

Matchup Against UCONN

In what will be the Canes toughest challenge, they will face a very strong UCONN team that has been killing opponents. UCONN has won all their games by 15 points or more and look to show an impressive squad depth.

UCONN has been led by big man Adama Sanogo who has been showing his talented playing ability on this biggest stage in College Basketball. Sanogo seems to do it all for this Huskies team. His ability to score, rebound, and be a forceful defender shows that he could be NBA bound.

Miami will need to play better than they played against any of their previous opponents. However, I do believe that beating the likes of Indiana, Houston, and Texas has prepared the Canes well enough to take on UCONN and hopefully beat them.

Season Success

Overall, this season for Miami has been a huge success. Winning the ACC regular season and then going on the run to the Final Four is an accomplishment that will be remembered forever.

The Canes Basketball program could change for years to come in a positive way. More recruits and transfers could be highly interested to join the Hurricanes Basketball program and continue to have great seasons.
