We have finally arrived at the best part of the College Basketball season! The long-awaited finale of the season is underway, and the hype couldn’t get any higher. With all the Conferences (ACC, Big 12, Big East) getting ready to start their tournaments, let’s dive into the things to be on the lookout for.
The Big East
The Big East will surely be ultra-competitive and deliver amazing Basketball. With the conference looking loaded this year, many teams have a chance to come out on top. Being hosted in Madison Square Garden always adds an extra spotlight to these matchups.
Marquette looks poised to be successful after a fantastic season. Ending the season with one of the best teams nationally ranked, Marquette should be a potential number 2 seed in March Madness.
UConn and Xavier are among the teams to watch out for also. Both teams have shown great potential and are waiting to make their stance clear.
Four Big East teams ended up in the final week of the National rankings. The Big East has looked super competitive all season and should be full of surprises.
The Big 12 was easily the most talented Conference in all of College Basketball. The teams have shown absolute dominance all across the season and are poised to make deep runs in the National tournament.
The winner of the Conference tournament could either come down to Kansas or Texas. Both programs have been solid and have experienced players who could take them the extra distance.
This past weekend saw both Kansas and Texas play. The Longhorns ended up winning 75-59 and closed out the regular season showing they were ready. With Texas winning, this should set them up to be hungry and ready to battle it out. Texas showed they could be the team of the Big 12.
The ACC has been one of the most fun Conferences to watch this year. Miami looks incredible and played some of the best Basketball in school history, which led them to win the ACC regular season. Last year’s runner-up, North Carolina, has looked disappointing all season, and it might seem they’ll have trouble during these elimination games.
Virginia has been one of the most elite teams in the nation. Virginia’s squad depth and rotation have been on a roll, and they will look to be favorites to win the ACC tournament.
The mighty Duke has climbed back to life after a turbulent season. Still adjusting to life without Coach K shows that this team might need more time to get back to their ways. Duke has very talented players and will look to show their power in this tournament. They will also find their way into March Madness as a potential 5-7 seed.
The ACC tournament is surely going to be full of surprises. Virginia Tech shocked everyone by coming out on top and winning the tournament last year. This tournament is surely anyone and is completely up in the air.
For that reason, I believe the ACC tournament is the one to follow the most! There will be great endings, surprises, and upsets to come.
