The Heisman Trophy race for the 2021 season is getting tighter each week. Read this article to see who Mitch ranks as the top three picks to win and why.

The race for the 2021 Heisman Trophy is heating up with each passing week. A good amount of the preseason Heisman favorites are still in the conversation but there are newcomers that have found some success this season and played their way right into the thick of the race.

The Heisman Trophy is one of the hardest individual trophies to win in College Football. There are so many players that are deserving of the honor, but only a few have been able to say they have won the award. These young men find themselves right in the thick of the Heisman race as the 2021 College Football season is quickly approaching its end.

BRYCE YOUNG – QB ALABAMA

The overall Heisman favorite, Bryce Young has been the leader on the offensive side for the Crimson Tide so far this season. The Sophomore quarterback currently has 26 touchdowns with only three touchdowns. He has been a Heisman favorite for the majority of the season and he definitely has embraced those expectations this season.

Since Alabama’s loss to Texas A&M, Young has rattled off six touchdowns with zero interceptions and averaged over 340 yards of passing in each of the two contests since the defeat.

If the young quarterback can keep up this pace of play and Alabama continues to win games, expect Bryce Young to be a finalist at the Heisman Trophy Ceremony.

MATT CORRAL – QB OLE MISS

The junior quarterback for the Ole Miss Rebels finds himself right in the middle of the Heisman Trophy conversation with his dominating play with the football. Ole Miss currently sits at 6-1 with their only loss at the hands of Alabama.

Corral has recorded 15 touchdowns with only one interception on the season so far. He has tossed 1,913 total yards and is averaging a QB Rating of 168.2 for the season.

If Corral can continue to lead Ole Mis to Wins and continue to produce his dominating numbers, the junior gunslinger will sure be in the conversation for Heisman Trophy Winners.

C.J. STROUD – QB OHIO STATE

Anytime you are the quarterback at The Ohio State University, your name always circulates around the Heisman Trophy conversation. C.J. Stroud has played his way right near the top of that conversation.

Stroud has passed for 22 touchdowns with three interceptions so far this campaign. The Buckeyes currently sit at 6-1 and are on a four-game win streak. They will be right in the middle of the College Football Playoff race and that will only help propel Stroud to the Heisman stage.

The Freshman quarterback is playing like a seasoned veteran and with a fantastic supporting cast around him, the sky is the limit for this young man. In his past three games, C.J. passed for four or more touchdowns.

If the Buckeyes find themselves in the playoff, Stroud could end up being the recipient of some hardware at the end of the season.
