• Rematch of 2020 SEC Championship Game, won by Alabama 52 – 46
  • Alabama Has Reloaded Behind Quarterback Bryce Young
  • Florida Facing First Power Five Test of 2021
  • Alabama vs Florida Pick

These teams ended an unprecedented 2020 SEC season by meeting for their 11th conference game in the SEC Championship game in Atlanta, won by Alabama 52 – 46 in a contest where Florida never had the lead. The Gators were one of only two teams to score more than 24 points on the Crimson Tide, just behind the 48 Ole Miss tallied in Week 3.

Alabama lost a Heisman Trophy winner at wide receiver and a starting quarterback who is leading the New England Patriots but hasn’t appeared to miss a beat. Bryce Young has stepped in at quarterback as the Tide humbled 44 – 13 Miami in Week 1.

The Gators, ranked 11th in the latest polls, have piled up a ton of yardage, but have yet to meet a Power Five or even strong Group of Five teams in its two lopsided victories over Florida Atlantic and South Florida.

Alabama Preview: 16 in a Row and Counting

The Crimson Tide hasn’t lost since a defeat in the Iron Bowl to in-state rival Auburn to end the 2019 regular season. After a 35 – 16 win over Michigan in the Citrus Bowl, they ran the table in 2020 on their way to the national championship and come into Week 3 at 2 – 0 after routing FCS Mercer 48 – 14 in Week 2.

Alabama has yet to give up a rushing touchdown in 2021 and is allowing only 68 yards a game on the ground. Bryce Young is completing 71% of his passes and has thrown seven touchdown passes while averaging 285 yards a game through the air.

Florida Preview: First Real Test of 2021 is a Big One

The Gators haven’t faced a top-tier opponent, with South Florida in a serious rebuilding mode and Florida Atlantic expected to finish behind Marshall in Conference USA. They’re averaging over 600 yards a game, but Florida will face a different level of challenge against Alabama.

Head coach Dan Mullen can take a lot from last year’s close call in the conference title game, but the strength of his offense has been the running game, which Alabama has been quite effective at stopping. If the Gators are forced to go to the air, quarterback Emory Jones could be vulnerable as he has already thrown four interceptions against with just a pair of touchdown passes.

Odds & Free Betting Analysis for This College Football Game

Florida is the only team to come closer than 15 points of the Crimson Tide during their 16 game winning streak. If the Gators can run the ball, they have a chance to replicate the last meeting between the teams, but if not, it could be a long day for Florida in their attempt to cover the 14.5 point spread.
