Best Conference Games in College Football has identified about a dozen games while scouring the schedules. We are sure there are more, but here are a few of the best. The bottom line is all games matter. That is if they want to go to the playoffs.
Best Conference Games in College Football – 2021
Alabama at Florida-September 18
Last year the Gators gave the Crimson Tide one of their toughest tests of the year as the to teams put up 98 points on the scoreboard in the SEC title game. Can Florida get it done in ’21?
Oklahoma vs Texas in Dallas- October 8
Texas is used to rattlers in their state to exterminate. As the Sooners bring their top quarterback Spencer Rattler to upend the Longhorns. A touchdown or less has been the outcome in six of the previous eight contests. This may be one of the best conference games in the early season.
Alabama at Texas A&M – October 9
This could be the toughest conference game on the Tide schedule. I am sure others in the SEC think they are better.
Miami vs North Carolina- October 16
Whichever team likely gets a game with Clemson a few weeks later. Battle of the Coast.
Ohio State at Indiana- October 23
Indiana is trying to derail the Buckeyes after they fell a bit short last season. Indiana has now lost 25 games in a row to “the Ohio State Buckeyes.”
Georgia vs Florida in Jacksonville- October 30
In the previous four meetings, Georgia has a double lead after the first quarter. However, The Florida Gators came through with a win by a 44-28 score. Wouldn’t it be good though to have some country music performed at this by the Florida-Georgia Line?
Best Conference Games in November
LSU at Alabama- November 6
By this time in the season, everyone should have an idea if the LSU team is capable of going into Bama-land and grabbing an upset.
USC at Arizona State- November 6
The Sun Devils are primed for their best season in quite some time and the Trojans are ready to take over the PAC-12 south. They played close last year.
Oregon at Washington- November 6
This is a strong rivalry that brings out the best in the players and the worst in the fans. This is a fight for the PAC-12 North.
Iowa State at Oklahoma- November 20
Late in the season, each team hopes to be in the picture for a playoff bid. It is possible, as they did last year to meet again in two weeks for the conference title game.
Alabama at Auburn- November 27
Late in the season games are killers for momentum. This might be the toughest road test for the Crimson Tide and a chance for the Auburn Tigers to grab the spotlight.
Texas A&M at LSU- November 27
This game is important because if Alabama fails, this has SEC West implications.
