Here at Football Takes, we like to keep an eye on college coaches on the hot seat. Here is what we came up with in no particular order.

College Coaches on the Hot Seat

Bing Babers at Syracuse. He did well in 2018. Then he went 6-17 the past two years and included in that is a 1-10 record in 2020. The Orange are ranked #31 nationally for 2021.

Justin Fuentes at Virginia Tech. He was almost let go last year and the AD made a late decision to keep him. He is 38-26 in five seasons. but 19-18 the last three years. The buyout last year would have been expensive for the school. They have the #37 preseason rank.

Scott Frost is at Nebraska. Oh, things were going so well when he was at UCF. But he got the chance to go back where he played and took the Huskers coaching job. Things aren’t going well.  He is 12-20 in three years, He did have a good recruiting year.  They are ranked #62 in preseason polls.

Brian Helton from USC He has finished in the Top 25 three of his six-year while coaching USC. The alumni want and expect better. Things could get better they’re #22 in preseason polls.

Jeff Brohm coaches at Purdue. He fell to 8-16 since their famous upset of Ohio State in 2018. Alums don’t like it that he hasn’t beaten in-state rival Indiana. They are ranked #20 in the early polls.

Jim Harbaugh coaches at Michigan. He has been there six-year and has a contract through 2025. He Hasn’t had enough success. The Wolverines are #28 in the preseason rankings.

Houston’s Dana Holgorsen is trying to be relevant in their weak league. His quarterback left him which hurts a lot.
