College football is almost here and each week we (Tom) will pick a game that has some real significance and could be a good game to watch and preview. The schedule is listed below and is subject to change as teams win and lose during the season.

What a great way to start off a season. The first game is a game to watch with significance for College Football Playoffs! Then throw in the fact it is in a neutral site in prime time makes this a huge affair.

The powers to be make this Week 0 which I find really dumb but has no real meaning. One thing that we attempt to do is go easy on the trends as we write these previews. Here is Tom’s thoughts on this subject:

you can look at all the trends you want and how many times each team has won in their head-to-head contests, you can look at all the ATS and SU you want but the thing about football is that trends mean very little unless you have an established quarterback on the field or coach that has been there to create those numbers. Each season is different in college football as players come and go. In other words, trends are basically worthless in football.

Notre Dame vs. Georgia
Date: Saturday, September 21
Game Time: 8:00 ET
Venue: Sanford Stadium, Athens, GA
Network: CBS

This is one of the best four games this weekend that have bowl implications. Both have been playoff teams in the previous two seasons with Georgia barely defeating Notre Dame in 2017. But these are different players.

The quarterbacks are both talked about and written about extensively. The Bulldogs send JAke Fromm on the field with his 601 yards passing, five touchdowns and 42 of 56 from the air this season. The Irish have Ian Book with 553 yards, six touchdowns, and 29 of 47 from the air.

Look for this game to be decidd by the defensive teams. Notre Dame will have to try to contain the rushing game of Georgia who is led by D’Andre Swift and four other quality running back. Depth is a major factor for the Georgia Bulldogs to wear down the Notre Dame defense and go on to a decent size victory.

Tbut this game should be decided on whether Notre Dame can slow Georgia’s rush attack. The Irish rank 120th nationally in rush defense (230 ypg), while Georgia has five backs, led by D’Andre Swift, with at least 100 yards this season. Georgia should be able to rely on that depth late into the game, wearing down Notre Dame’s defense in a big win for the Bulldogs. Georgia -13

Good luck and remember to practice good bankroll management.
