• The Bulldogs have one of the best defenses of all time.
  • Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker has taken over the SEC.
  • Georgia leads the all-time series 25-23-2.

The top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs will hit the road to take on fellow Southeastern Conference Rival, the Tennessee Volunteers, this Saturday. UGA is anchored by one of the best defenses in college football history, though Tennessee’s high-octane offense has posed problems for many teams thus far.

#1 Georgia vs Tennessee Matchup at a Glance

#1 Georgia Preview: A Terrifying Prospect

The Georgia Bulldogs currently enjoy the nation’s number-one spot after starting their campaign on a tirade, winning all nine of their games and all seven of their in-conference matchups.

The most terrifying part of this Bulldogs team is its defense, which has already pitched two shutouts and is allowing less than a touchdown per game; their trio of linebackers is the best in the nation, though their entire starting lineup has NFL potential.

Georgia gets after the quarterback, forces turnovers, and gets off the field on third down, making them as close to a flawless group as there is currently playing.

Offensively, UGA has firepower too; Stetson Bennett has filled in admirably for JT Daniels, producing 3.5 touchdowns for every interception he throws. The offense as a whole has scored at least 30 points in every game post-opening week, including 43 against Missouri last weekend.

Georgia vs Tennessee Pick & Preview - College Football Week 11

Tennessee Preview: A Late-Season Charge

The Volunteers have had an up-and-down season thus far, posting a 5-4 record with one win and three losses against ranked opponents, all of which were also in the SEC.

They managed to build a bit of momentum with last weekend’s win over #18 Kentucky, however, a game in which they racked up 461 yards of total offense and scored 45 points with a ridiculously low 13:52 time of possession.

QB Hendon Hooker has taken over the team in his first year since transferring from Virginia Tech, emerging as a top-seven prospect at his position, per Mel Kiper Jr., even entering the Heisman race with 25 touchdowns and just two interceptions.

While Tennessee has no problems manufacturing points, however, their defense has proven to be vulnerable, giving up 42 and 52 points in their last two contests. Granted, these were against Kentucky and Alabama, but it still shows that their defense struggles to convert in key moments.

Odds & Free Betting Analysis for This College Football Game

The impending contests between Tennessee and #1 Georgia present a true strength-on-strength battle, with the explosive Volunteer offense facing off against the stoutest group of defenders in America.

It would take a near-miracle for Tennessee to win this game, as they are only 1-3 against top-25 teams and do not have the defensive talent to slow down the Bulldogs. However, with the odds on the Moneyline being as low as they are, there is little to no value for Georgia straight up.

Because of the lopsided odds, the more intriguing prospect for this game is the spread; as much as the “sexy” pick would be to take Tennessee to put up a season-high on UGA’s defense, it would be unfair.

The Bulldogs have not buckled one time this season, and they are probably going to force the Hooker-led offense to commit multiple turnovers.

Assuming Georgia can hold Tennessee under 20 points, as it has to all of its opponents, they would have to score near 40 points to cover the spread— for this reason, the under is more likely to hit.
