• A substantial SEC West matchup looms for the Ole Miss rebels as they get ready to face a resurgent A&M team who is playing arguably their best football in the last 5 years. While Ole Miss has flown under the radar since dropping a game to Auburn in week 8
  • It will be a classic QB battle as Heisman candidate Matt Corral looks to continue to build his case for Heisman against Zach Calzada, the gritty pro-style sophomore who likes to keep it between the mustard and mayo, playing assignment correct and fundamentally sound football
  • This game will likely come down to who’s defense can make the least amount of mistakes as both offenses have no issues putting points up on the board

Oxford, Miss. awaits two of the SEC’s most formidable opponents Saturday at 7 pm as Texas A&M looks to keep their momentum rolling off a great win last week against Auburn. Ole Miss has different plans as they await Jimbo Fisher and the Aggies in the friendly confines of Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, averaging 37ppg and 524 yards of offense per game.

They will look to push the tempo with Corral and an array of weapons at their disposal, hoping to starch the Aggies and make them play from behind. The Aggies are holding their opponents to a very small 14ppg and look to make it Challenging for Corral and the Rebs by doing their thing on defense and win the TOP (time of possession) battle.

The Aggies will look to chew the clock, establish the run early and catch the Rebels lacking with play action over the top-Calzada’s specialty. It will be an old-fashioned SEC slugfest this weekend and there is tons to be excited about.

Ole Miss Preview: All Aboard the Lane Train

It’s year two of the Lane Kiffin era in Oxford, and HOTTY TODDY the Rebs are decidedly moving back to National Prominence for the first time since the Bo Wallace and Hugh Freeze era. Ranked as the #15 team in America and previously as high as ten in America, Ole Miss is led by Matt Corral, the gun sling junior from Cali.

He has racked up over 2500 yards of passing and 16 TDs, this offense is a force to be reckoned with in the SEC, averaging over 37ppg and over 500 yards of offense per game, which is good for first in the SEC. This is a sound football team that has beat some quality opponents in Arkansas, Tennessee, and LSU.

A team that is looking to get back into form as an SEC title contender in the next two years, they are well on their way as Lane Kiffin has taken a massive step in the right direction this season and has his heels dug into the turf in Oxford. All aboard the Lane Train.

Texas A&M Preview: Roll Jimbo Roll

Texas A&M has certainly become who everyone thought they could thuis year as the Aggies knocked off #2 Alabama at home in week six of this season. Jimbo Fisher has established himself and the Aggies as a formidable SEC West foe after that game and the recruits keep on coming.

A balanced team led by sophomore QB Zach Calzada who has battled injuries all season but has kept this team rolling beating Bama with a sprained ankle and a great win against Auburn last week. They play old-fashioned ball control offense with a star in the backfield in Isiah Spiller who is about to top 1000 yards on the season. This team averages just under 30 ppg, with 250 yards of passing and 200 yards rushing per game, they are going to make defenses work, by spreading you out and gassing you out.

This may be Fisher’s best team as I certainly think it is his best year with the headset on down in College Station, this team wants to send a message, and a strong one at that: they can beat anyone at any time.

Odds & Free Betting Analysis for This College Football Game

A&M is the betting favorite this week by 2.5 points, and Ole Miss the underdog by 2.5 points. I see this game as a pick’em more than anything due to two factors. The first being: A&M is the better team, however, Ole Miss is undefeated at home and streaks are real in the betting world.

Ole Miss has a strong home-field advantage and plays their best ball at home. If you are a spread person, this is one I would stay away from due to it being so small and so close. The total is set at 55.5 which any time Ole Miss is playing, that is a great number, Both teams average points would clear the over by 4 points and I think 55.5 is very conservative there.

I would take Ole Miss to cover if I had a gun to my head, but if you want ML, take the Aggies and hammer the over.
