This is purely a subjective report as to which coaches are the best. If we didn’t include your favorite then feel free to do that in your mind. Without further ado here are the Top 20 coaches in Division 1 College Football in 2018.

20- Paul Chryst- Wisconsin

He has been a head coach in Madison for three seasons. In that time, he is 34-7 and has won the Big Ten West twice. His stock keeps rising.

18- Pat Fitzgerald- Northwestern

16- Lincoln Riley- Oklahoma

Yes it is true, he inherited a great program but the fact remains he can win.

He is 28-11 since he got to Michigan. Some want to judge him by being 0-3 against Ohio State.

14- Dan Mullen- Florida

He takes his coaching strategy from Mississippi State to Florida. This will help the Gators. His rank is considering what he did at his other job.

13- Bill Snyder- Kansas State

Lots of reason for this lofty ranking is what he has done in the past. He had a great 2017 season which removed the sour taste of the last few years in the SEC.

12- Gus Malzahn- Auburn

The guy can flat-out coach and now has his team on the doorstep to a national title.

11- James Franklin- Penn State
