The IPL season is less than a week away and the excitement is growing. The Indian Premier League has transformed into one of the fastest and most entertaining sports leagues in the world. With all this enthusiasm, we are bound for some great matchups coming soon.

What will be some of the best matchups to look forward to?

Gujrat Titans vs Chennai Super Kings

The first match of the IPL will see the winners from last year start their trophy defense. The Titans have assembled an even deeper squad and have seen growth from their existing players. Hardik Pandya has turned into a great captain and will go up against one of the all time greats, MS Dhoni.

The Super Kings struggled badly last year and will try to turn things around. This first match of the season should be super thrilling to get the season started. Chennai has a lot to prove to the Cricketing world in this opening game and need to transform their squad to a winning mentality.

Bangalore Royal Challengers vs Mumbai Indians

One of the best matchup rivalries in the league. Both teams are filled with superstars and always present us with a thrilling matchup from start to end. The match on April 2nd will see two of the best Indian Batsman, Virat Kolhi and Rohit Sharma, go head-to-head in a classic.

Sharma who is the greatest captain in IPL history faces Kolhi’s Bangalore who have always struggled to win the IPL trophy. Bangalore needs to start the season off strong in this game and should take advantage of the fact that the Indians are missing Jasprit Bumrah.

Bangalore has some of the best Bowlers in the IPL and it should be interesting to see if they can fend off this Indians team that struggled badly last year.

Lucknow Super Giants vs Delhi Capitals

Lucknow reached the finals of last year’s IPL season in their inaugural year. This team has played extremely well and to a high level. Lucknow will look to make another deep run this year with captain KL Rahul leading the way.

Delhi will be missing their captain and star Rishab Pant this season due to a car crash injury. Pant’s presence will surely hurt this Delhi side, but they still have strong pieces to ensure a decent campaign. David Warner is assuming the role as captain for Delhi and his experience will surely help lead this team.

The matchup on April 1st will indicate how these teams could look this season and give a better understanding of the playing styles. This matchup will surely be a toss up as the sides seem evenly matched up.
