Tour de France 2022 begins on July 1st and finishes on July 24th and has 21 stages from start to finish.
The previous two Tour de France races have been won by Tadej Pagacar of Slovenia. He is part of the UCI World Team UAE Emirates team. He has been made the top odds to win in 2022.
The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) is the sponsoring committed for the Tour de France and many other international races.

Tour de France Cyclist Profile
Tadej Podacar– he was born on September 21. 1998 in Kamenda, Slovenia. He became the youngest cyclist to win a UCI World our race in 2019 when he was twenty years of age. He is the first cyclist to break 6,000 points in the UCI World Rankings. He made history in 2021 when he won the tour de France and an Olympic medal in the road race.
In 2019 he joined the UAE Team Eemirates just prior to the start of the tour de l’Avenir and proceeded to win the race.
Primož Roglič was born on October 29.1989 in Slovenia. He was ranked #1 cyclist in the world from 2019 to 2021, a record 75 weeks. in the UCI Men’s road racing and twice was named cyclist of the year.
He started his sporting career as a ski jumper but after a bad accident he switched to cycling in 2007. Even though he was rather late in cycling career, he managed to win the Vuelta a Espana three year in a row.
In 2020, he was the first Slovenian to wear the yellow jacket with a second place finish. In 2021 he was the gold medal winner in the Olympics.
Tour de France 2022- STAGE ONE
In 2022, the Tour de France will begin in Denmark and go in and around Copenhagen. The ground will be primarily flat with lots of streets of the capital city. this is 13 km trip and considered Time Trials.
There will be three stages that involve Denmark. The 2029 race was to include this country but COVID wiped it out. All in all there will be three other counties involved in 2022 with Belgium and Switzerland introduced to the race. This is the first time in the history of the race that four countries were part of the Tour de France.
Four mountain ranges will be part of the 2022 race including the Vosges. the Alps. Massif Central and the Pyrenees In all there are 6 mountain stages, including 5 summit finishes (La Super Planche des Belles Filles, Col du Granon, Alpe d’Huez, Peyragudes and the Hautacam).
As tradition has dictated, the tour de France 2022 will finish in Paris but this is the first time it will be completed on the first day of the Tour de France Femmes ( Women’s race). the total distance covered will be 3348 kilometers or 2.067 miles.
STAGE 2
they will be crossing the “Great Belt” bridge, an expanse of water separating the two parts of Denmark. While they are doing this, it is expected they could face a strong head wind doing in the crossing. The length of the it is quite lengthy and it has wind 300 days a year. This stage is 202.2 km and it goes from Roskilde to Nyborg in Denmark with mostly flat ground.
