Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout

A new battle royal game with a different spin is gaining steam on Twitch. Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is more player vs. obstacle instead of player vs. player.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is a battle royale game developed by Mediatonic and published by Devolver Digital. It was officially released on August 4, 2020, for Microsoft Windows PlayStation 4. A big push from PlayStation Plus helped bring in 1.5 million people to play the game on day one.

How is Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout Played?

The latest craze on Twitch has been Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout. Unlike other battle royale games where players kill each other to be the last player standing, Fall Guys has a less explosive approach for players to win. The concept of the game is similar to game shows on television like Wipeout and Takeshi’s Castle.

Each player can customize their jellybean avatar. Sixty players come together in a single battle and have to beat various challenges to qualify for the next round and keep playing. There are numerous maps, and each has its objective that the players need to complete. That may include surviving obstacle courses, mini-games, memory matching, football, and an egg-hoarding challenge. The jellybeans can run, jump, and grab things as they avoid obstacles or eliminate enemies. If one gets removed, the player has the option to watch the rest of the battle.

The game itself is very colorful and delightful. The jellybeans and maps consist of various colors, unlike other Battle Royale games that are dark. Fall Guys cut a lot of waiting time, and it is easy to join a new game when you get disqualified. Most matches last about 15 minutes from start to finish.

Patch Already Needs Fixes

The wild and silly battle royale game has already found problems, and players want it to get fixed immediately. They are trying to solve an issue after players complained about enormous names appearing at the end-of-round screen.

On twitter, Fall Guys wrote, “We have a patch that has bunch of fixes including one for LARGE RED LETTERS in player names. The patch fixes a few things across the game, so we’re just trying to fully test it, and make sure nothing is broken as a result of the fixes.”

Some players have been using this to their advantage to take the crown. They discovered that they could modify the HTML in Fall Guys and change their name to anything or any size they wanted. They also experienced server issues, dropouts, and disconnection problems.

Twitch Rivals to Hold Competitive Event

Twitch Rivals have announced that they are preparing for a competitive match for Fall Guys. The date, time, and guest list are not ready yet, but they plan to invite the best-known streamers from each country to participate. Twitch Esports informed about the competitive event through Twitch and included a video by a famous streamer, Lirik, where he showed interest in being part of a competitive game.

Fall Guys launched to more than 500,000 viewers on Twitch and remains near the top. In the first 24 hours of the game, 1.5 million new players joined. It has been an overwhelming success and will become even more popular as people watch streaming platforms and competitive events launch.
