Sigma Postpones Europe Event: The largest Euro Gaming Industry Conference put on by the SiGMA group in Malta will have to be postponed from this April to November.

SiGMA Group just announced that the SiGMA Europe event will be postponed from this April to November 16-18, 2021. It is scheduled to be held in Malta at the MFCC with the fall date due to a surge in Covid-19 cases.

Because of the recent rise in reported Covid-19 positive tests, the decision has been made. Malta’s nightlife scene will have to be dramatically altered despite all wishes to the contrary.

On March 5, 2021, it was announced that bars, clubs, and restaurants would be closed from now through mid-April in Malta.

The Prime Minister, Robert Abela, held a press conference where he announced that they would be closing all nightclubs, bars, and restaurants from March 5th until April 11th, after the number of Covid-19 cases rose quickly and unexpectedly.

He ordered all mass organized events to be on hold, although he announced that the government would continue to support those businesses impacted. Although this recent closure will impact the SiGMA Europe gaming event, it is for the best and will just serve to push it back a couple of months.

According to SiGMA Group founder Eman Pulis in the Gambling Insider, he stated that “We welcome this decision, we believe in the safety of all our delegates. There’s no SiGMA without bars, there’s no SiGMA without restaurants- that’s where all the magic in business networking happens.

I look forward to seeing you in November, save the dates.” Mr. Abela further noted that he expected the rollout of the Covid-19 vaccine, along with everyone’s commitment to helping the country recover, would hopefully result in their ability to open by the April date.

SiGMA’s Europe November show has a full lineup of digital events. It is considered the super show for global gaming. It embraces key verticals of the gaming market through expert-led panels, keynote speakers, and lineups of the top brands in the business.

SiGMA also works alongside the company’s AIBC brand and boosts crossover opportunities for the emerging tech and gaming sector with an array of investment opportunities.

This expo is expected to attract delegates from more than 80 countries with the EU composing about 60% of the guest list followed by Asia and the Americas. According to SiGMA, there are three reasons why this will be the World Gaming Festival:

  1. Emerging Trends: SiGMA embraces all three verticals-affiliates, opera-tors, and suppliers. Today’s super affiliate, for instance, is fast becoming an operator, thanks to lower barriers to entry.
  2. Emerging Hubs: SiGMA is held in two Gaming hubs-Malta, the gaming hub in Europe, and Manila, the undisputed hub in Asia. Thanks to MGA in Malta and PAGCOR in the Philippines, a robust regulatory framework has enabled hundreds of gaming companies to establish offices and operate legally in both jurisdictions.
  3. Emerging Tech: This year there will be a merger of two large expos- SiGMA and AIBC under one roof. This will push boundaries for the two verticals to learn and feed off each other. There will be keynote speakers and innovations in Block-chain, AI, Big Data, Quantum Computing loT, and FinTech to enlighten all about the future.
