XDefiant: A New Tom Clancy Game is on the Horizon – What We Know So Far

Esports article at Knup Sports

XDefiant is the name of the brand-new video game in the popular Tom Clancy’s series. We don’t know much details about it; here’s what we do know:

Recently, Ubisoft Entertainment, a French video game company headquartered in Paris most well known for producing some of the most successful video games in history with Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, Just Dance, and the Tom Clancy’s series revealed the game XDefiant’s first public PC test will take place on August 5th.

Ubisoft’s official website released a statement reading, “Tom Clancy’s XDefiant is a free-to-play, fast-paced arena shooter that combines intense gunplay with personalized loadouts and specialized factions, as teams of gunfighters – called Defiants – battle for domination.”

The game will be released on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and X/S allowing the majority of gamers around the world instant access to the highly anticipated violent game.

What We Know So Far About XDefiant

Buckle your seatbelts! Ubisoft is back and diving much deeper into the ‘Clancyworld’ with Tom Clancy’s XDefiant dropping sometime this year. The free-to-play game will continue to be a first-person multiplayer shooting game whilst selecting teams of six characters to compete against each other across quite a few game modes.

We already know what Clancy’s factions included in the past regarding the Wolves (Ghost Recon), Echelon (Splinter Cell), and the Outcasts and Cleaners (The Division). There’s no doubt that more defiants will certainly be implemented within the game further down the road, it’s just a matter of how far down the journey until they are ultimately added?

The creative lead behind the video game has shared a brief moment of insight in saying the game features “fast-paced firefights meeting punk rock moshpits.” Quite the engaging comment you would hope to hear, don’t you think?

In what we have gathered so far, players will have the opportunity to customize their Defiant’s loadout to satisfy their style of play. Not only that, but players can include primary and secondary weapons of choice along with any attachments or devices that one may feel are necessary.

Lastly, each time you respawn in a new game players will have the chance to make any changes to their setup and have time to adjust to the different game modes.

It goes without saying that the game is still fairly early in the development stage of the process, but Ubisoft’s confidence in the game is clearly strong as they opened it to the public for a first test on August 5th. I’m sure Ubisoft will live up to its expectations, once again.
