MLB DFS Lineup Tips for Wednesday – It’s a 13 game slate as the season approaches the midway point of the MLB season. Some teams are looking for a nice rebound, and some teams will surprisingly be sellers come the trade deadline. Let’s take a look at tonight’s slate for each position. This is for the early 7:05 pm ET slate.
These are my MLB DFS Lineup Tips for this Wednesday, June 23.
PITCHER
Jose Urquirdi (R) $8,500
In the game against the Chicago White Sox, Urquirdi allowed two earned runs, struck out five batters in 7.0 innings pitched. Trevor Bauer would be a good option, but he is facing Joe Mosgrove and a tough San Diego Padres team. The Houston Astros are currently a -196 favorite on Fanduel against a struggling Baltimore Orioles that is 1-9 in their last ten games.
CATCHER/FIRST BASE
Yuli Gurriel (R) $3,200
Expect the Houston Astro bats to be popular tonight once again. Gurriel is 4-6 in this series against the Orioles. He is also currently batting .325 this season. The Astros have a good offensive team, and Gurriel can have numerous opportunities to drive in some runs.
NEXT BEST OPTION
One other player you could target is Matt Olson (L) at $4,100. He has reached base in each of his last 19 games. He has had two multi-hit games in his last four games.
SECOND BASE
Jose Altuve (R) $4,200
Altuve struggled last night as he went 0-4 and walked once. However, Altuve is batting .282, with seven home runs and nine walks in the last 10 games.
NEXT BEST OPTION
If you don’t want to pay up for Altuve, DJ LeMahieu (R) is also a very good option at $3,100. LeMahieu was 2-4 with a home run against the Kansas City Royals last night. He has gotten at least a hit in his last five games.
THIRD BASE
Matt Chapman (R) $3,100
Chapman went 1-4 last night with a home run, three RBI, and a walk against the Texas Rangers. He has a hit in ten straight despite the slow start to begin the season. Mike Foltynewicz has struggled in his last three starts by giving up a combined 22 hits, 16 earned runs in just 11.1 innings pitched.
SHORTSTOP
Xander Boegaerts (R) $3,600
Boegaerts has continued his great 2021 campaign and is currently 7th in the Majors in batting average.
NEXT BEST OPTION
If you want to save money in this position would be Wander Franco at $2,500. Last night he made his debut and proved the hype train that he can be a potential star in this league. It may only be one game but he went 2-4 with a three-run home run, a double, and a walk.
OUTFIELDER
Yordan Alverez (L) $3,800
Alvarez hit a home run two games ago and walked twice last game against the Orioles. In the last ten games, he has been on a tear with a .314 batting average, 2 home runs, and getting on base five times via walk.
OUTFIELDER
Micheal Brantley (L) $3,500
One final Astro you could take a look at would be Brantley. He has had a crazy month of June, going 24-47 from the batters’ box. He has nine multi-hit games in his last 13 games.
OUTFIELDER
Kiké Hernandez (R) $3,100
Hernandez has at least one hit in his last four games. He also has walked three times in that span.
UTILITY
Sean Murphy (R) $2,600
Murphy went 2-4 last night with a double, a walk, and drove in two runs. With a struggling pitcher on the other side of the mound, Murphy could continue his hot streak of getting on base in any way possible.
