NBA DFS: It is a very short slate for tonight. There are only five games for Thursday’s NBA schedule starting at 7:30 pm EST.
The slate opens up with the Portland Trail Blazers at the Miami Heat, the Washington Wizards at the New York Knicks, the Los Angeles Clippers at the San Antonio Spurs, the Philadelphia 76ers at the Los Angeles Lakers, and lastly the Golden State Warriors at the Sacramento Kings.
These are my NBA FANDUEL DFS picks for this Thursday, March 25th.
POINT GUARD
STAR
Ben Simmons $8,200
With Joel Embiid out the high usage rate for Simmons has been there on a nightly basis. He hasn’t produced like you would expect when paying up for a player of his caliber.
However, the Lakers are looking for a way to replace the production of both LeBron James and Anthony Davis. The Lakers currently don’t have an elite defender to slow down Simmons.
VALUE
Kendrick Nunn $5,500
Nunn had five triples and put up 25 points and three against the Phoenix Suns who are a much better defensive team.
Would only play him if Goran Dragic is out because Nunn’s minutes have fluctuated these last few games. Portland is also not great at defending the three-ball.
SHOOTING GUARD
STAR
Paul George $8,200, CJ McCollum $7,500
George is always a top option when playing anyone on the Los Angeles Clippers, but he hasn’t produced to the level DFS players are used to. Would prefer McCollum at a slightly cheaper price.
After missing a few games, McCollum has had a tough time staying consistent aside from the 32 point performance against the Dallas Mavericks. The matchup might not be great against the Miami heat; however, McCollum is very cheap.
VALUE
Tyrese Haliburton $5,700
Haliburton’s production has picked up a bit since entering the starting lineup, as he’s scored in double-figures in four of his last five outings.
In his last two games, he had 35.5 and 37.2 FP. He is slowly proving why he should have been taken higher in the draft.
SMALL FORWARD
STAR
Kelly Oubre $7,200, Kyle Kuzma $7,000
He finally had a big game against the 76ers as he had his first double-double since February 13th against the Brooklyn Nets. Wouldn’t be a bad option to play him again.
Kuzma did not have a great shooting night against the New Orleans Pelicans; however, he did contribute in other ways.
He had 16 points, ten rebounds, and seven assists. With James and AD out, Kuzma will have a much higher usage rate.
VALUE
RJ Barrett $6,500, Derrick Jones $4,400
Barrett finally hit 20+ points against the Washington Wizards before coming close to that mark three games prior.
With the injury of some of these guards, Barrett has had a higher usage rate as he has been more of an all-around player.
In a small slate, Jones may not be a bad option as he will mostly get around 30 minutes against his former team.
POWER FORWARD
STAR
Julius Randle $10,200, Tobias Harris $8,800
Randle had 37 points, six rebounds, and two assists across 38 minutes in Tuesday’s win over the Washington Wizards.
It was a great matchup and the New York Knicks will be facing them again tonight. The Wizards are not a good defensive team and Randle will have another good stat line.
Harris has been more consistent than Simmons. Against the Kings, he had 60.2 FP. He can be someone you can play if Randle is too expensive.
VALUE
Marcus Morris $5,000
With Serge Ibaka out, Morris has been getting more minutes. He scored 20 points against the San Antonio Spurs last night. He has also been shooting well from behind the arc as he went 5-8 last night.
CENTER
STAR
Mitch Robinson $6,200
He has played well against the Wizards defense who are not good against opposing big men. He has gotten a double-double in both of their meetings this season. He should be able to get anyone one tonight.
VALUE
Ivica Zubac $5,600, James Wiseman $4,200
With Serge Ibaka recovering from an injured back. Zubac has done his part by averaging 12.8 PPG, 8.0 RPG, 1.8 APG, 1.3 steals per game, and 1.0 blocks per game while averaging 30.0 minutes these last four games.
He is the team’s starting center moving forward and should get more minutes against the Sacramento Kings.
