NBA Fanduel DFS Picks for Monday, March 22, 2021: The NBA schedule for Monday is eight games slate tipping off at 7:30 pm EST. The Sacramento Kings at the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Oklahoma City Thunder at the MinnesotaTimberwolves, the Charlotte Hornets at the San Antonio Spurs, the Utah Jazz at the Chicago Bulls, the Toronto Raptors at the Houston Rockets, the Indiana Pacers at the Milwaukee Bucks, the Boston Celtics at the Memphis Grizzlies, and finally the Atlanta Hawks at the Los Angeles Clippers.
These are my NBA FANDUEL DFS picks for this Monday.
STAR – Jrue Holiday $6,800
The offense may run through him as Giannis is doubtful with a knee injury. Since the All-Star break, Holiday is averaging 15.8 PPG, 5.8 RPG, 4.0 APG, and 1.8 steals per game. Although Holiday’s overall numbers are down significantly from his final three seasons in New Orleans, he can do a little bit of everything on the stat sheet.
VALUE – Theo Maledon $4,600
If Alexander does not play, the biggest beneficiary will be Maledon or Ty Jerome. Prior to Sunday, Maledon went five straight games without a steal while averaging 9.2 PPG, 4.2 RPG, and 5.0 APG during the stretch. With Alexander sitting on Sunday, he had 12 points, four rebounds, and three steals against the Houston Rockets.
STAR – Shai Gilgeous Alexander $7,400
He should be good to go for today’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves after sitting out on Sunday. The Oklahoma City Thunder have been involved in blowouts, and that’s why his price is low on FanDuel. He has averaged 25.5 PPG in his last four games.
VALUE – Terry Rozier $5,900, Devonte Graham $4,300
LaMelo Ball is out for the remainder of the season with a fractured bone in his right wrist, which gives a minute boost to both Rozier and Graham. Both are very affordable.
Both these players should have a high usage rate and minutes if the game is close against the San Antonio Spurs.
STAR – Gordon Hayward $7,000, Khris Middleton $7,000
Hayward hasn’t been someone who a lot of DFS played a ton this season as his production has been decent. He is currently 20.3 PPG, 5.6 RPG, and 4.1 APG. The good thing about Hayward is he can do a little bit of everything on the offense end with Ball out for the rest of the year.
With Giannis Anteokounmpo out, Middleton is very cheap on this slate and should have the ball in his hands a lot more against the Indiana Pacers.
VALUE – Kevin Porter $7,000
This slate is where it’s hard to find value for the small forward position on FanDuel because you can’t play some of these players on multiple positions. Porter is the best value, but the interest would go down if John Wall and Victor Oladipo do indeed play tonight. However, the price is the same as the other two mentioned on top.
STAR – Jayson Tatum $8,800 Pascal Siakam $7,900
Tatum will get a usage bump with Kemba Walker out but still prefer Siakam at the price tag.
The Houston Rockets have struggled a lot against big men this year; even with Christian Wood back, their rotation is very thin. Siakam should be good for 30 minutes as he missed a few games due to the NBA COVID Health Protocol.
Ownership should be down because he didn’t have a good against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
VALUE – Bobby Portis $3,700
Hopefully, Portis does start in today’s game, but if he does not, expect him to play at least 20-25 minutes off the bench. This is strictly a value play if you paid up for the other positions for today’s slate.
STAR – Karl-Anthony Towns $9,700
The Timberwolves are still dealing with a lot of injuries, and Towns’ usage rate has been very high once again. Al Horford is not the elite defender he once was, which is a good matchup for Towns.
Towns was one rebound short of his second consecutive double-double against the Phoenix Suns.
VALUE – Derrick Favors $3,500
If you are looking for a cheap center option, please monitor Rudy Gobert’s injury. If there is confirmation that he is out early, Favors may be the best value play in tonight’s slate.
