NBA FanDuel DFS Picks for Thursday, June 17 2021 – It’s a one-game showdown between the Brooklyn Nets and the Milwaukee Bucks for Thursday’s NBA schedule tipping off at 8:30 pm EST. Game 6 is an elimination game for the Bucks as the Nets were able to come back and win the game behind one of the greatest playoff performances in recent years by Kevin Durant. Jeff Green was lights out off the bench too as he was able to pick up the pace offensively for the struggling Nets.
This is a bit different as it is a single game slate on FanDuel. There is an MVP spot, STAR spot, PRO spot, and two utility spots. For example in Game 5, if you didn’t have Kevin Durant in the MVP position, it was most likely impossible to cash. You also most likely needed Giannis Anteokounmpo in the Star position as well.
These are my NBA FANDUEL DFS picks for this Thursday, June 17.
MVP- 2X Points
Kevin Durant $16,000
Kevin Durant probably had one of the best playoff appearances since LeBron James in 2018. Without taking over the game, the Nets would have most likely faced elimination without Kyrie Irving in Game 6. Durant had a crazy triple-double with 49 points, 17 rebounds, and 10 assists to go along with three steals and two blocks.
This is a tough position because Giannis Anteokounmpo could play 40+ minutes and carry the team as the Bucks are facing elimination. I don’t expect Durant to have close to 100 FP but he always has 70-80 FP plus upside.
STAR- 1.5X Points
Jrue Holiday $12,500
Jrue Holiday had 19 points, eight assists, three rebounds, and one steal across 34 minutes of action. Holiday had some foul trouble early, which cost him a few minutes last game. His teammate Khris Middleton has been better this series, but Holiday could have lower ownership in this slate.
If Holiday has a good game, there is a good chance that the risk will pay off. James Harden did not look 100 percent last game. Harden can score over 30 points, but it is uncertain how ready he will be for Game 6.
Jeff Green $11,000
Jeff Green had a very good shooting performance last game as he went 8-11 from the field while shooting 7-8 from three-point range. With a tight rotation, Green will continue to play big minutes for the Nets off the bench. Without Kyrie Irving, the Nets have to keep allocating the usage rate and minutes elsewhere.
Blake Griffin $10,000
Blake Griffin had 17 points and three rebounds last game across 29 minutes. Griffin has had a bigger role in this series and did a decent job defending Antetokounmpo last game. He hasn’t gotten that many minutes in the fourth quarter.
PJ Tucker $8,000, Landry Shamet $8,000
PJ Tucker will most likely play 30 minutes or more a game. He will pay off the price if he knocks down the corner threes, getting a few rebounds, and a steal and/or block would help add some more FP.
The Brooklyn Nets have an eight to nine-man rotation. Shamet did play 29 minutes last game. The only reason I don’t like Joe Harris is he gets most of his DFS points from shooting behind the arc.
