Dell Technologies Championship Odds, Picks, and Predictions

Golf and PGA article at Knup Sports

The Dell Technologies is being held at TPC Boston for round two of the FedEx Cup Championship in Norton, Massachusetts this weekend.

The second round of the FedEx Cup Championship takes place at TPC Boston. Last week at the Northern Trust, Bryan DeChambeau took the honors as the winner. Now they move on to the second round. The course was designed by Arnold Palmer originally but had a makeover in 2007. Golf Digest gave it the honor of being “Best Private Remodel of 2007”. The course is 7,241 yards and a par 72. This is the last year the FedEx Cup Championship will be held here.

The course is not really in Boston as it is in Norton, Massachusetts and about 20 miles from Providence, Rhode Island. The average winning score is 17.5 strokes under par and has seen the winners routinely finish with a 65 or lower. The course has been the home for a FedEx Cup championship on four other occasions. Those winners were Justin Thomas in 2017, Rory McIlroy in 2016, Henrik Stenson in 2013, and Vijay Singh in 2008.

Let’s look at some of the players that are on our radar to win this event.

Bryson DeChambeau is hot. He just won the Northern Trust and did it decisively. He is currently the top-ranked golfer in the FedEx Cup. He locked up a spot on the Ryder Cup with this win. Look for him to be around the lead all weekend.

Justin Thomas used this event last year to help garner the Championship. As the defending champion, he plays this course well. Look for him to play well under par on this course.

Brooks Koepka has been good for a long time as he won the PGA Championship and was 8th at Ridgewood. In his prior work on this course, he has gotten better everytime.

Rory McIlroy is included because he has won this event twice (2012, 2016) and was fifth in 2014. Must be something about those even-numbered years. He missed the cut last year but has some quality game to his name this year.

Dustin Johnson finished 11th last week at the Northern Trust. At this course, he has been 4th two times and finished in the 25 virtually every season. He is a great par 3 golfer and this course plays into his style.

Jason Day likes this course as he has been in the top 3 two times and has a streak of five consecutive finishes in the Top 20. He also has an affinity for the courses that have many par 3 holes.

Our Picks:

Dustin Johnson has to be high on the list followed by Tony Finau and Brooks Koepka. For a value pick an underdog, I will put some bets on Jordan Spieth and the due factor.
