The regular season for the PGATour finishes up this weekend in Atlanta, Georgia, with the TOUR Championship being played on the 7,300+ yards par 70 courses at East Lake Golf Club.

In actuality, every player can win the event as it has been pared down to only the Top 30 players in the world as designated by a points system throughout the entire season. A few players of note is that Jordan Spieth fell out of the final cut as did Emiliano Grillo. Two players jumped in to replace them are Keegan Bradley and Xander Schauffele.

FedEx Cup

Let’s look at the top 30 players in this event with my top picks near the bottom.

1. Bryson DeChambeau

He won two FedEx events and they were back-to-back with the Northern Trust by four strokes and the  Dell Technologies Championship by two strokes.

2. Justin Rose

Rose had two wins in the tour as he came roaring back in the closing or the World Golf Championship from eight strokes back to win. He took the Fort Worth Invitational with a three-stroke victory over Brooks Koepka. He finished in the Top 10 in ten events this season. HAving a week off is always something he has responded well to in his career.

3. Tony Finau

He started the season with a runner-up at the Safeway Open and played well all season. He finished in the top 10 eleven times this season and golf historians have seen glimpses of a young Tiger Woods or Phil Mickelson. He dislocated his ankle at the Masters after celebrating a hole-in-one. He will continue to get better but must garner a better ability in his putting game.

4. Dustin Johnson

Johnson was victorious three times on the tour with wins at the Sentry Tournament of Champions, FedEx St Jude Classic, and the RBC CAnadian Open. In 19 starts he has finished in the Top 10 eleven times. He had a few rounds of bad golf this season but he is ready to march towards the finish as the winner.

The Weather:

It appears there will be some rain preceding the event with a chance for rain on Thursday. The greens should be fine as sunny weather and warm temperatures appear to be there for the entire tournament. The winds are minimal at about 7-10 MPH.

Our Top Picks:

1. Bryson DeChambeau — Hottest player on the TOUR

2. Justin Rose — Chance for a repeat?

3. Tony Finau — He is most primed.

4. Dustin Johnson — He has a good record on this course.

5. Justin Thomas — JT is rock solid, and he seems to like places with tree-lined fairways that play a little tighter.

6. Brooks Koepka –He was sixth here last year and is playing very well. A week off helps him.
