Rush Street Interactive and DraftKings are the first operators to take online bets in Indiana.

The Hoosier State became the seventh jurisdiction to enter the regulated online wagering market on Thursday, following the successful launch of the Betrivers.com app. The mobile betting platform is the product of a solid partnership between Rush Street Interactive and French Lick Casino Resort.

Rush Street has been running a retail sportsbook at the resort since September 6. The BetRivers app is powered by Kambi software.

DraftKings Online Sportsbook made its debut into the Indiana online market on the same day. The operator was cleared by the Indiana Racing Commission to start accepting online bets late on Wednesday.

DraftKings opened a retail sportsbook at the Penn National owned Ameristar Casino in East Chicago on September 1. Ameristar was one of the three venues to book a legal wager in Indiana when the market went live.

Indiana marks the fifth state for DraftKings and the operator’s third online sportsbook. The company is already operating mobile sportsbooks in New Jersey and West Virginia, and retail venues in Mississippi, and New York.

Perfect time to go online for Indiana

The launch of the BetRivers.com app and DraftKings Online Sportsbook could not come at a better time.

The 2019 football season is currently at its height, and the Major League Baseball postseason began earlier in the week. Also, the 2019/20 NBA season is set to begin later this month, and the rollout of mobile sportsbooks will bring the sports betting experience closer to Indiana bettors.

The state launched its sports gambling industry on September 1, and currently, 13 retail sportsbooks are operating in the precinct.

The onset of mobile wagering makes Indiana sports betting available statewide, and Hoosiers will be able to place wagers from any location within the jurisdiction. The state’s law does not require bettors to sign-up for online wagering at retail venues, and this means that residents can register remotely with the BetRivers and DraftKings online sportsbooks.

Both BetRivers.com and DraftKings Sportsbook Online have downloadable mobile apps that are compatible with iOS and Android-powered devices.

DraftKings starts Iowa Operations at Wild Rose Casinos

This week has been one of the busiest for DraftKings Sportsbook.

On Friday, the operator joined the regulated Iowa market with a trio of state-of-the-art retail sportsbooks at three Wild Rose Entertainment casinos. The three venues are located in Jefferson, Clinton, and Emmetsburg.

Each of the three DraftKings branded sportsbooks features three ticket windows and six self-service wagering kiosks. Also, they are fitted with large video wall displays, several smaller HD monitors, odds boards, and scrolling tickers with player information, game stats, and live score updates.

The venues will be open seven days a week, but the operational hours will vary from one location to the other.

Patrons visiting these locations will be able to place a variety of bets across several sports like football, basketball, baseball, golf, soccer, ice hockey, auto racing, tennis, and cricket. There will be betting opportunities on both professional and collegiate tournaments, but proposition bets on players in Iowa schools or their opponents in games will not be offered.

The opening of the three Wild Rose sportsbooks marks DraftKing’s sixth state. The operator is also looking to expand its offering in the regulated US industry with a Pennsylvania sportsbook soon.
