Unibet has been given the distinction of being named the official sports betting provider for the National Basketball Association (NBA). The agreement between the NBA and Unibet, allows the sports betting provider, to use all of the NBA insignia across all of its platforms online and in mobile devices. The NBA and other professional sports teams have warmly embraced legalized sports betting. After the Supreme Court decisions in 2018 that lifted on ban on sports betting, the industry is exploding. The Kindred Group which owns Unibet made the announcement this week, and said, ‘they are very proud and encouraged by the partnership with the NBA. Genius Sports and Sportsradar, still will gather all the appropriate game data and distribute it among partners of NBA teams.

The NBA has also solidified deals with MGM Grand, worth an estimated $25 million dollars over three years. The Unibet deal with the NBA differs a bit from their deal with the MGM Grand. The Kindred Groups/Unibet deal does not include the data and league marks for the WNBA. Unibet blazed onto the sports betting scene in the US in May of 2019, and feel their NBA deal, is a sign of exciting things to come for their brand.
