Miami Marlins vs Washington Nationals
The 4th of July is a day where we can all come together to celebrate our country and what better way to celebrate than watching the great American sport of baseball. The Marlins vs Nationals game was a nail-biter as it ended in extra innings.
The Marlins struck first in the 3rd inning taking a 1-0 lead as Angular singled to the left bringing Williams into the score at home. There wasn’t another run scored until the 8th inning when the Nationals tied it up. Garcia singled to right bringing Adrianzana home.
There were no runs scored in the 9th inning, so this took us to extra innings. The Marlins batted first and took full advantage as De La Cruz hit a bomb of a home run 411 feet to left field and gave the Marlins a 3-1 lead. The Nationals had a chance to tie it up or win it in the bottom of the tenth, however, Dylan Floro got credit with the Save for not letting the Nationals score a single run.
This game was a fun one to watch as both teams combined for 18 total hits.

Texas Rangers vs Baltimore Orioles
Another great game that was played on the 4th of July was the Rangers vs the Orioles, as the Rangers won interestingly. The Orioles struck first in the second inning taking a 1-0 lead as Araúz singled to right bringing Rutschman home.
The Orioles struck again in the 3rd inning as Mullins doubled to right bringing in Mateo as Baltimore took a 2-0 lead. It was not until the 5th inning that the Rangers got onto the board, García hit a sacrifice fly to cut the Orioles lead to 2-1.
They did not just stop here as Lowe singled to center and brought in another run, making it 2-2. Garver then hit a 413-foot three-run homer to the left as the Rangers took a commanding 5-2 lead, scoring five runs alone in the 5th inning.
In the bottom of the 5th, the Orioles cut the lead down to 5-3 as Mullins continued his hot bat and homered 423 feet to Center field.
In the 6th inning, the Orioles managed to tie it up at 5-5 due to an error causing two men to score. The Rangers took a 6-5 lead in the top of the 9th as Semiem homered 418 feet to left.
The Orioles were able to tie it in the bottom of the 9th as Rutschman doubled, allowing McKenna to score. This game was the second game of the day to go to extra innings.
The result of this 4th of July game shocked all fans when the Orioles got the bases loaded in the bottom of the 10th. Mateo took the plate and was hit by a pitch bringing in the game-winning run. There is nothing worse than losing a baseball game on a hit-by pitch, although this game was really exciting to watch as both teams combined for 21 hits.
