MLB Team Links Glossary

Game Notes– Almost every team produces them before every game. It is the same notes that the broadcasters use when they deliver stats. It is useful to look at them just prior to a series as they usually have all the numbers associated with the pitchers and batters that will match-up. They are not usually ready until about 3 hours before game time. Another fun thing to do is find two teams that are playing each other and read BOTH sets of game notes. This can be vital before placing your bet.

Transactions– This is produced daily for each team unless they didn’t make any roster moves. This can help you before placing a bet to see if someone got injured or who got sent up or down.

Press Releases– This is everything they want you to know about the team. Many times they aren’t always related to the on-the-field activities. It might about a promotion or it could be something about the food they serve at the ballpark. Various topics.

Top 30 Prospects– Each team has a ranking of their prospects and the list goes to 30. The lists are updated each month. Many times top prospects get called up and accrue too much big league time.

Other– This could be anything. It might be a list of the team affiliates, it might be a sign-up for the team newsletter. A few teams include postgame notes or maybe it is about events for kids. Whatever it is, it is usually interesting.
