If either of Vientos and/or Baty are in the Opening Day, means the Mets failed the free agency signings or they have a lot of faith in them.

Vientos had and.SLG of 581 and his ISO( Isolated power) raised from .156 in 2019 to .299 in AA and .306 he was a lot of extra bases this year for comparison his ISO was better than Joey Votto, Vladimir Guerrero, and George Springer.
Now he punishes when he makes contact with the ball, however, his K% over 28% this year shows some concerns about his ability to make contact consistently. He would be 2nd in K% on the Mets over J.D Davis(32.2%).

Between both whos more projected to have a better future at the MLB it’s Brett Baty with his hitting tools, but as right now the more ‘’MLB ready’’ is Mark Vientos after playing in AA and AAA this year but also that he will be added to the 40-man so the Mets can’t avoid losing him for free in the Rule-5 draft in December.
I don’t think Vientos will be the Mets’ third basemen for the future since he’s profiled to be a below-average defender at third, he has a good arm possibly a transition to the outfield it’s definitely something to watch in his future with the team unless he improves.
