Baseball is your favorite sport and you are so excited to start your season, but first, you have to choose your number on the back of your jersey. This can be one of the toughest decisions or easiest, but it holds a lot of wait. Nobody wants a lame jersey number!

Choosing a number for your uniform holds just as much weight as your walk up song, the glove you use or your bat. Sure, it may not matter so much at the major league level, but this number is going to be your new identity.

Do you need help choosing the best number for your upcoming season, check out our article for some of the best options.

Fifth Best Number, #17

There was a point in time where wearing #17 may not seem like a cool choice, but that is in the past. Shohei Ohtani rocks this number and he changed the game of baseball. There may not be a better number to have on your back for inspiration.

You can be part of the generation that makes #17 one of the most coveted numbers in baseball. If you are a do-it-all player like Ohtani, consider this number.

Fourth Best Number, #5

If you are a stud with the bat, #5 is perfect for you. It has a long history of being one of the best numbers in baseball, but from a style standpoint, and success standpoint. Albert Pujols, George Brett, Johnny Bench, Joe DiMaggio, Freddie Freeman and Hank Aaron for his rookie season wore this number.

Nobody wants to pitch to a player rocking #5 on their back, so if you have the confidence and the swagger to rock this prestigious number, go for it.

Third Best Number, #13

A lot of people think #13 is bad luck, so why not go out there and prove them wrong? This number could receive some flack, but it is superstitious; you either love it or you hate it.

In little league, opposing teams will judge you by your number. If you walk up to the plate with this number, the pitcher may just throw you a meatball, and that is where you show them what #13 can really do.

Second Best Number, #10

Baseball is one of the few leagues where #10 is iconic, and everyone wants it. MLB does not have the amount of stars you would expect who wear this number, but there is just something about this number that young baseball players love.

There are just some numbers that stand out in youth baseball, but it seems this number is slowly losing its popularity. What numbers do you think will be big in the future of baseball?

Best Number in Baseball, #7

If you wear #7, you will have high expectations put on you. Everyone wants this number, and if you are the lucky one to get it, you better make the most of it.

Mickey Mantle rocked this number with the New York Yankees, and the rest was history. This number has a big reputation, and that is at all levels. It has the fifth highest WAR in MLB history out of all other numbers. Unfortunately, WAR does not consider the swag factor it adds.

Other numbers that received consideration were, 1, 2, 4, 22, 35, 44. At the end of the day, go with your gut on the jersey you want, but these are historically, some of the best numbers in baseball.
