Have you been enjoying the first full week of Cardinals baseball? I know we have. As you know, here at CardinalsGM, we try to be different. Many sites look deep into the Major League club and talk about stats and such.
We go deeper and dive into the Cardinals prospects and farm system. You won’t find many sites talking about this or odds about these games in your favorite baseball sportsbook. But hopefully, you enjoy what we put together each day.
Cardinals News
Miles Mikolas did a decent job pitching into the 6th inning. It was poor baserunning as Fowler was thrown out at second with no one out and Ozuna thrown trying to stetch a leadoff double into a triple that was a problem for the Cardinals. The Birds had issues in the field as Jose Martinez dropped a couple of balls. The Cardinals did tie it in the 9th but gave it up in the 10th and lost 5-4.
Which brings me to a point. Matheny put Holland in the 10th and he walked like four guys. What is management thinking? He wasn’t ready. They sign him, give him two innings in High-A ball and think he is good to go. This loss is on the management.
