The game starts quietly as neither team scores in the first three innings of the game. Then, in the top of the 4th, the Phillies score three runs as Freddy Galvis singles with one out. Franco walk and Ryan Howard hits a three run blast. Phillies score 3 runs.

The game stays that way until the bottom of the 5th inning and Euven Tejada leads off with a single, Catcher Eric Fryer walks and Brandon Moss pinch hits for Leake and smacks a single to load the bases. Aledmys Diaz singles to score two runs. One out later, Stephen Piscotty singles and one more run score. Holliday hits into a double play to end the half inning. Now the score is 4-3 Phillies.
