Carter Young- MLB Prospect
Carter Young is a prospect that plays shortstop at Vanderbilt. He was their everyday starter and in .38 in the short 2020 season. As a shortstop he is known as above average with plenty of athleticism. He is a switch hitter and came up as a right handed hitter. He is now developing some power from the left side.
He is 6 ‘0″ and 180 lbs. from the state of Washington.

His coach at Vanderbilt, Tim Corbin has this to say about Carter Young:
“It wasn’t a surprise that Carter inserted himself very quickly into our program. His defensive skills are advanced for a young player and very impactful at the shortstop position. He has continued to grow as an offensive player with strength and skill development. Carter has a very even disposition for the game that plays very well for him and our team. I am most excited about his growth and maturity academically over the last semester.”
Last year he hit .262 with 16 home runs and 52 RBI’s. He is considered ready to jump to the next level. Young will likely be the second shortstop taken off the board. Check out our other prospect profiles:
