College baseball 2023 continues it s very early look at the top teams in the NCAA baseball. Today we feature #15. We are getting about a bit over a month until opening weekend of college baseball.

College Baseball 2023 – #15

The Yellow Jackets at Georgia Tech maintains this spot. We are one of the few to have this high in the rankings but we believe in the signings and transfers of the pitcher coming in to keep this team strong for head coach Danny Hall.

Coach Hall has a 1,140-650-1 record  in 29 years as their baseball coach. Last year his team was 36-24 and looks to improve in 2023.

The Yellow Jackets did lose some key players that got drafted into the major league programs and they include: catcher Kevin Parada and his school record 26 home runs. Also 2B Chandler Simpson after he led the nation with a .433 batting average others include infielder Andrew Jenkins, outfielder Tres Gonzalez and pitcher Zach Maxwell.

However, they turned in the 5th best recruiting class in the nation. In the group is a phenomenal group  of high school arms including right handed pitchers Terry Busse out of John A Logan Junior College, Luke Schmolke out of Lake Norman HS in North Carolina, They also got Left handed hurler Noah Samol out of Wilson HS in Ohio. Catcher Tyler Monnick, SS Demlin Diamant, INF Brant Baughman.

Mac Nease Baseball Park at Russ Chandler Stadium will host 5 ACC series and 55 games in 2023. The Yellow Jackets will open Feb. 17-19 by hosting Miami of Ohio.
