College Baseball is in full swing with practices all over the country. Even the cold weather climates are finding or building spots to workout until the season begins.

We have worked out way down to #13 on the list of best teams in college baseball 2023. The Texas Christian University (TCU) Horned Frogs are the next team we look at their team for the upcoming season.

The TCU team is coached by Kirk Saarloos who just completed his first year in Fort Worth with a 38-22 record.  The Horned Frogs are a member of the Big 12 conference and play their home contests are Lupton Stadium.

Last season they finished second at the College Station Regional and in 2023 they return five position players. Third baseman Brayden Taylor returns after a .324 batting average and 23 home runs along with 50 runs batted in.

The pitching staff as an array returning with many of them right-handers including Luke Savage with two saves 1-1 record and  a 2.73 ERA along with Garrett Wright with 5 saves, 2.89 ERA and 27 strikeouts. Starter Cam Brown is back from a 5-2 record and a 4.42 ERA. a notable transfer comes from the Kansas Jayhawks RHP Ryan Vanderhei who was honorable mention in the Big 12.

Other returnees that are expected to contribute to the Horned Frogs success are center fielder Elijah Nunez, right fielder Luke Boyers,first baseman David Bishop and catcher Kurtis .

TCU will open up the season with the always tough Vanderbilt Commodores on Feb. 17. Arkansas on the 18th and Missouri on the 19th at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.The Horned Frogs will play 55 games – 32 at home, 17 on the road, and six neutral-site games.

The Horned Frogs will have their home opener at Lupton Stadium on Wednesday, February 22, against UT-Arlington, followed by a weekend series against Florida State.
