Cardinals News
The Cardinals lost 3-2 and lost the series to the Brewers. Adam Wainwright suffered his second loss of the season as he allowed eight hits in seven innings of work. His game score was 49. Tommy Pham had two hits including a home run. The Cardinals now move on to face the Cincinnati Reds.
Game Results
Memphis Redbirds– The Redbirds defeated Omaha in a day game 3-2. The team only amassed 6 hits in the contest as Randy Arozarena led the way with two hits in four at-bats. Also, Oscar Mercado had two hits in the contest. Tyler O’Neill and Adolis Garcia had the other two hits.
Dakota Hudson (game score =58) pitched five innings, allowed six hits, three earned runs, two walks and four strikeouts to garner the win. Arturo Reyes worked one hit and gave up one hit for his first hold of the season and Preston Guilmet got his second save with two innings of work in which he fanned four and allowed one hit.
Springfield Cardinals– They had the day off.
Palm Beach (game one)- The Cardinals defeated Dunedin 2-1 behind stellar pitching from Anthony Shew (game score =78). He pitched a complete game (7 innings in a doubleheader) and allowed four hits and one run while walking none and striking out seven batters. J.B. Woodman had two hits and one run batted in for the Cardinals.
Palm Beach (game two)-the day was a split for the Cardinals as they lost this game 2-0. Andy Young was 2-for-3 as was Jose Martinez. They provided four of the teams six hits. Ronnie Williams started on the mound and pitched 3.2IP/2H/0ER/1BB/4K and had a Game Score=60. Thomson, Patterson, and Latcham each pitched an inning in the game.
Peoria Chiefs– Cedar Rapids scored runs in each of the first seven innings to defeat the Chiefs 12-9. Taylor Bryant had 3 hits and Irving Lopez, Juan Yepez (hitting .526), Dylan Carlson each had two hits. Carlson added a home run and 3 RBI’s in the loss.Winston Nicasio (Game Score = 9) went three innings and allowed six hits and six earned runs Kevin Hamann suffered the loss by allowing four runs in two innings.
