Miami Hurricanes are in the Top Ten of our baseball countdown for 2023. Head coach Gino DiMare has been their man at the helm for five seasons and has a 126-65 record to his name.

Last year the ‘Canes finished the year with a 40-20 record and finished third in the Coral Gables Regional. Gone from that squad is left-handed pitcher Carson Palmquist, outfield slugger Jacob Burke, catcher Maxwell Romero, Jr., right-handed hurler Alex McFarlane and fellow right-handed pitcher Jake Garland.

Returning to the Hurricanes are second baseman Yohandy Morales.first baseman CJ Kayfus, shortstop Dominic Pitelli,outfielder Edgardo Villegas, right handed pitcher Alejandro Rosales, RHP Karson Logan, reliever Andrew  Walters and pitcher Gage Ziehl.

New to the squad will be Caleb Cali from Central Florida,Jared Wegner transfer from Creighton, Michael Turner and Connor Noland.

Andrew Walters and Yohandy Morales were selected as Preseason All-American for 2023, with Walters to the first team and Morales named on the third team. Both are juniors.

The 2023 season begins at home on Feb.17-19 against Penn State and will play an in-state rival Florida Gators on Gainesville on March 3-5.
