Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago White Sox will meet in the final game of their best of four series on Thursday, August 6.
The Milwaukee Brewers are currently struggling as they lost the first two games against the White Sox. They have been suffering from injuries, illnesses, and inconsistency throughout the season. Their series against the St. Louis Cardinals was postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak among teams.
The short break helped Christian Yelich come back from a slump this season, batting just .097 in 31 bats with only two walks and 13 strikeouts. He was able to hit two of his three hits on the season on Monday against the Brewers. Yet, it was not enough for the Brewers, and the offense has scored only 30 runs this season.
On the other hand, right-hander Adrian Houser has shown potential and is scheduled to start against the White Sox. Also, pitcher Brandon Woodruff went for six innings and allowed eight hits and two runs.
The Brewers were able to win against the White Sox in Game 3, 1-0.
Chicago White Sox
Unlike the Brewers, the White Sox have been one of the hottest teams in the league this season. They have won six in a row, sweeping the Kansas City Royals and beating the Brewers twice in their first to match-ups.
They now lead the MLB in team batting average with .281 and rank fourth in runs scored and sixth in home runs. Lefthander Dallas Keuchel has been consistent with the White Sox and seems comfortable playing with the team.
However, two players suffered shoulder injuries during the second game. They have lost pitchers Reynaldo Lopez, Carlos Rodon, and Tim Anderson in the first ten games. Then, in the second game, Nick Madrigal and Edwin Encarnacion injured their shoulders, eliminating them for the rest of the games against the Brewers.
Rookie Madrigal injured his left shoulder in the third while trying to advance from first to third base. One inning later, Encarnacion also hurt his left shoulder on a swing while reaching base on an infield hit.
The White Sox will play without a significant number of players, making their rotation weaker than before. Hence, they lost to the Brewers in Game 3 without scoring any runs.
The White Sox were not able to defeat the Brewers in Game 3. They had a slow start at the beginning of the season as they were not looking like the team fans were hoping for. Despite the struggle, they managed to come back and win six games in a row and asserted their dominance.
However, the team has suffered from injuries that weakened their rotation, causing them to lose the Brewers on August 5. If the injury plague continues for the White Sox, they will struggle for the remainder of the season and will most likely tie the best of four series with the Brewers.
Hence the Brewers will win their fourth game against the White Sox and tie the series.
