Texas A&M Aggies are led by head coach Jim Schnossnagle and will enter his 22nd year of collegiate coaching and has a record of 855-413,
Their home field, Blue Bell Park, is an advantage for the Aggies as they were 27-9 in games at College Station last season, Pitching should take a step in the right direction with Nathan Dettmer returning as he posted a respectable 4.99 ERA and likely to be the rotation leader. Look for Chris Cortez to help solidify the rotation.
The Aggies finished fourth in the College World Series last season and finished with a 44-20 overall record. They came away with the seventh best recruiting class and will return six position players. First baseman Jack Moss, second baseman Austin Bost, right fielder Brett Minnich, designated hitter Ryan Targac, the aforementioned Dettmer all return for the 2023 season.
Also expected to contribute to the every day squad are 3B Trevor Werner. CF Jordan Thompson and LHP Will Johnson.
Texas A&M baseball received several transfers and a large host of top high school players. This squad is primed and ready for a return to the CWS and can move beyond their 2022 success.
