The Major League Baseball season is in full swing and sports bettors are finding many ways to enjoy the game this Summer. Some teams have come out of the gate on fire while others have sputtered their way through their first 20 or so games.
Looking at both the American and National leagues and where some of the teams are currently, here are the top three teams to bet on to win the world series in both the AL and NL so far this season.
New York Yankees
The New York Yankees are one of the hottest teams in baseball to start the season. They currently have a record of 13-6 which puts them in first place in the AL East. This team is full of star power up and down their roster.
Their lineup has the likes of Anthony Rizzo (8HR, 19RBIs), Aaron Judge (5HR, 10RBIs), and Giancarlo Stanton (3HR, 13RBIs). They have the star power which is a deadly matchup against opposing pitchers.
Starting Pitchers Luis Severino leads the team with two wins while Jordan Montgomery has a 2.70 ERA. Don’t forget their intimidating closer, Aroldis Chapman. With current +850 odds to win the World Series, the Yankees are a good play to make to win.
Los Angeles Angels
The Angels have begun to find their swagger this season. They have a 13-7 record and are in 1st place in the AL West.
They have the best two-way player in the game in Shohei Ohtani. Ohtani is a deadly pitcher on the mound and creates difficult matchups in the batter’s box. The Angels also have the luxury of having the always-powerful Mike Trout in their lineup just about every day.
With the Angels having a current +3000 odds to win the world series, it seems like a no brainer to put some money on this powerful roster.
Chicago White Sox
A team that was stellar last season will look to find themselves back in the playoffs this season. They have started slow this season and currently have a 7-12 record which places them 4th in the AL Central.
They have stellar pitching such as Michael Kopech with a 1.42 ERA to start the season. Designated Hitter, Andrew Vaughn has been hot at the plate this season with four home runs and 12 RBIs.
Currently, the White Sox have +1500 odds to win the World Series and even though they are near the bottom, expect this team to find their groove and get back to the playoffs.
Los Angeles Dodgers
The Dodgers seem like a no doubt pick to be in the playoffs and compete for a World Series this season. They have superstars throughout their roster and pitching staff and their record is showing it. They currently are 13-6 and are tied for 1st in the NL West.
They have one of the best pitching staffs in the majors this season with Clayton Kershaw and Walker Buehler pitching well as of late. The addition of Freddie Freeman has bolstered an already potent lineup.
LA is the favorite team in the MLB to win the World Series with +450 odds. It isn’t a bad bet but don’t expect the odds to stretch back much more this season.
Milwaukee has built a winning culture and they will look to make some noise this season. They have a record of 14-7 and they are sitting in 1st place in the NL Central.
Their bats have been red hot with Andrew McCutchen batting with a .247 ERA so far this season. He has been a great addition to an already consistent lineup at the plate. Watch his veteran presence be a positive impact in the clubhouse.
The Brewers have +1500 odds to win the World Series. A team that flies under the radar may not be a bad pick to put some money on.
New York Mets
Buck Showalter is at it again. Anywhere he goes, he changes the culture and creates winning teams amost instantly. He has done it with this NY Mets team that is in 1st place in the NL East with a 15-6 record.
Led by major league slugger, Francisco Lindor this lineup has quickly become one of the most feared in baseball. Starting Pitcher, Max Scherzer has found his game and has three wins with a 1.80ERA.
This team has all the tools to win now and they have veteran leadership from their manager, to the lineup, to the pitching staff. At +800 odds, the New York Mets are one of the top teams in the MLB to win the 2022 World Series.
