NASCAR makes its first of two trips into the land of Dorothy and Oz for the Bowling 400 event. Last week at Talladega we had a new winner in Ricky Stenhouse and this week could very well produce another.

Kansas Speedway is a 1.5-mile tri-oval asphalt track. This is a Saturday night race and it has had six different winners in six years. Previous winners include Brad Keselowski, Denny Hamlin, Matt Kenseth, Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, and Kyle Busch.

Let’s get started for a chance to make some money.

Matt Kenseth has had some issues lately but he won this event in 2013 and has Top Ten finishes in 10 of his last 13 races at Kansas Speedway. Last year he got 4th place and was sixth the year before that. He a the history at this track and that could make him dangerous.
.
Brad Keselowski has finished seventh or better in eight of his last nine races. Included in those numbers are two victories. He is consistent but he has never won this event. Although, he has four top 10 finishes at Kansas Speedway.

Kyle Busch just completed one of his best races as he finished third place and has kept his streak of third or better in the last seven races. Last year he won this race and has finished fifth or better in the last four races at the Kansas Speedway. It’s been awhile since Kyle has won. Is this the due factor?

Kevin Harvick is also looking for his first win of the year. He has been close to a fifth or better in three of his last four races. He won the last race at Kansas Speedway and finished second or better in five of his last seven appearances on this track. He has history and he is our first choice to win this week.

Martin Truex, Jr. excels on these tracks as he has led the most laps in back-to-back years on them. Look for the Joe Gibbs Racing team to have him primed and ready to win.

Jimmie Johnson is the only active racer with three wins at Kansas and he has two top-five finishes to add to his resume here.

Denny Hamlin has been strong recently and performs on these types of tracks. The Toyotas have been successful on the oval asphalt which leads us to consider Hamlin to win.

My longshot includes Ryan Blaney. This young man is due to in his first race.
