Fire Up the Engines

With the 2021 Nascar Cup series just a few weeks away, we are closing in on our final opportunities to place futures bets ahead of the first race. Although we haven’t seen any cup series racing since Chase Elliott hoisted the championship trophy back on Nov. 8 in Phoenix, it is almost time to fire up those engines once again.

Daytona 500 Favorites

Nascar is finally underway Tuesday, Feb. 9, with the Busch Clash at Daytona exhibition race. The Daytona 500 is on no other than Valentine’s Day this year in Daytona Beach, FL. Too little surprise Denny Hamlin and defending champion Chase Elliott lead the pack to win the 2021 Nascar Cup Series Championship. Hamlin +800 is the clear favorite for this race, with Elliott narrowly behind him at +1000.

How likely is it for Chase Elliott to repeat?

It is not rare for a driver to repeat as Cup champion, but lately, it has become a bit more uncommon following the racing legend Jimmie Johnson’s departure. Johnson successfully defended his championship back in 2010 after winning the title the previous four years in a row. Since then, no other driver has been able to defend their title, which is a reason for doubt to creep in when thinking about taking Elliott to repeat. On the other hand, Chase Elliott is one of the youngest drivers in the cup series and most recently was the youngest driver to win a cup series title since Jeff Gordon won his first back in 1995.

Don’t forget about Kevin Harvick!

Another racer with high betting odds is Kevin Harvick at +1400. You may wonder what specifically sets these racers apart from the rest, distinguishing them as favorites for the 2021 season, and that is purely their success in the 2020 season. Kevin Harvick dominated last season, winning nine races, followed by Denny Hamlin winning 7. Both of these drivers outperformed champion Chase Elliott until the end of the year where Elliott took over, finishing with five wins.

Betting Nascar

If you are unfamiliar with betting on Nascar, you can explore a bunch of different options. As of right now, betting on the future 2021 Cup Series Championship is the only option available as it is a preseason bet that will take all season to complete. With futures betting on Nascar, there is a much larger disparity compared to other sports. Basically, for Nascar, the top 6 or 7 racers are all separated by a slim margin in odds to win the title, and quickly the odds balloon to insane payouts for less successful racers.

Prop Bets and other ways to bet Nascar

If you aren’t interested in waiting all season on your bet, gamblers have the option to bet each race’s outright winner, top 3 finish, or even top 5 finish. Of course, if you are looking for the biggest payout betting on the outright race winner is your play.

Hamlin (+300) and Elliott (+350) are also the favorites to finish in the top 3 of the Daytona 500.

Don’t forget to check out Nascar matchups gambling, where you can bet on one racer simply beating another racer without even having to win the race. If you want to check out some prop bets, take a look at the odds of which driver will lead the most laps in a race.

Overall, the 2021 Nascar season is coming in hot, so don’t forget to lock your picks in ahead of the 2021 Nascar season where odds remain at some of the highest all year and explore all of the different options.
