The first 10 picks of this year’s NBA Draft are loaded with potential, but the next 10 picks should have plenty of talent as well.
With our very own 2021 NBA Mock Draft, we’ll see which players could thrive in certain situations!
11. Charlotte Hornets – Corey Kispert SF
Corey Kispert was part of a Gonzaga team that made it all the way to the NCAA Championship Game, as he displayed tremendous shooting skills from 3-point range. Kispert has strong ball-handling skills and can finish at the rim with either hand. He’s excellent at getting his offense off the ball through cuts as well.
He’s not the most athletic prospect, but his shooting could help stretch the floor for LaMelo Ball.
12. San Antonio Spurs – Alperen Sengun PF/C
Alperen Sengun has great low post-scoring skills and can finish with either hand. Great in the pick-and-roll and can bully defenders with his size or just use his footwork, including spin moves to beat defenders with finesse.
The San Antonio Spurs know how to get the best out of their players, and Sengun fits their system very well.
13. Indiana Pacers – Davion Mitchell PG
Davion Mitchell is an efficient scorer who can shoot the ball very well from three and can beat his defenders with his quickness and shiftiness. He’s very comfortable creating his own shot. He has great vision at the point guard position as well.
He doesn’t have great leaping ability, however, so that can hurt his ability to finish around the rim.
14. Golden State Warriors – Chris Duarte SG
The Golden State Warriors could use an NBA-ready prospect now, and that is what Chris Duarte is. He can shoot and defend very well, making him an immediate fit next to Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.
15. Washington Wizards – Trey Murphy III SF
Trey Murphy III fills an immediate need as a shooter and defender for the Washington Wizards at the wing position, which are both areas the Wizards desperately need help in. He can slide in very well next to Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook on both ends of the floor.
16. Oklahoma City Thunder – Kai Jones C
The Oklahoma City Thunder could be looking at a center, as they don’t currently have a long-term answer at that position. Kai Jones has a high upside as a modern-day big with his high motor and leaping abilities. Also can shoot the three.
However, he also struggles to hang in there with stronger big men and also finds himself in foul trouble a lot.
17. New Orleans Pelicans – Jared Butler PG/SG
Jared Butler is a gifted scorer who can create his own shot or shoot off the catch, fitting in as a great off-the-ball option when Zion Williamson attracts lots of defensive attention in the post for the New Orleans Pelicans.
18. Oklahoma City Thunder – Ziaire Williams SG/SF
Ziarie Williams is a raw prospect but can develop into a solid two-way wing in due time. Possesses good ball-handling skills and mid-range shooting, showing a smooth rhythm on shot creation attempts.
19. New York Knicks – Usman Garuba PF/C
Usman Garuba is a high-energy guy who can shoot, pass, move very well and make all the dirty plays to help teams win games. Perfect in Tom Thibodeau’s system.
20. Atlanta Hawks – Keon Johnson SG/SF
Keon Johnson has great size at his position and can attack the rim and defend well. A perfect environment for an Atlanta Hawks team that loves to run.
