The 76ers are in Atlanta for the weekend, hoping to make good things happen. If they can come away with the victory in game 3, they will have a 2-1 lead in the series, and a more positive outlook. Given how tight things have been through the first two games, bettors have probably been mulling over how to pick their winner in this one.

76ers at Hawks Game 3 Betting and Video Preview

Well, here’s how I think this one is going to go. I believe the Hawks will be able to do enough to pick up this win. Trae Young is playing some great basketball right now, and even though he didn’t shoot it well last game, he was dishing the ball out nicely. He has two guys in Clint Capela and John Collins who he can throw lobs to after faking floaters.

Losing DeAndre Hunter is not enough to take Atlanta’s spirit away, as other players will continue to step up for them. As for the 76ers, we all know what they are capable of. In Joel Embiid, they have one of the best bigs in the game. One of the best players, at that. However, when he isn’t getting foul calls, he’s a little less lethal.

Embiid is the center version of Trae, whereas he has a great arsenal of moves, though it always comes back to foul-hunting. It will be fun as a neutral viewer to watch the ATL fans boo Embiid for it, while embracing Young. Just as it was when the shoes were on the other feet in Philly.

ODDS

SPREAD: The spread for game 3 is set at PHI -1.5
OVER/UNDER: The over/under for game 3 is 224.5 points.
MONEYLINE: The PHI moneyline is -122, while Atlanta is +104.

Can 76ers Win Away from Home?

In round one, it took Philly five games to advance. They went up 3-0, before losing a game in DC where Joel Embiid went down. When he is able to finish games, they have gone 4-1 in these NBA playoffs. And now heading on the road, they have to have victory on their mind, as home court is not theirs at the moment.

The biggest advantage for the 76ers is having home-court advantage, but they gave it up with the game 1 defeat. Roaring crowd and all, they could not rally to get the victory. And as we look at them now, a few things need to be done to claim the win.

They need to continue to double-team Trae Young and make other guys beat them. Embiid has to attack Capela and get him on foul trouble. And, they need to make sure Shake Milton is the second guy off the bench after Matisse Thybulle. He was great last game.

Hawks Seeking 2-1 Lead

After losing game 2 to the Knicks, Trae Young said “See you in the A”, looking determined as he walked off the floor. By the time the series shifted back to NY, the Hawks had a 2-1 lead and their opponents on the brink. Might there be some déjà vu?

Trae has been tremendous all postseason, even becoming the first Hawk to ever have 35+ points and 10+ assists in a playoff game. Still just 22 years of age, he has embraced the role of leader, and also villain to the other teams. Watching him grow up here in these games has been such fun.

The keys to victory remain the same. They need Kevin Huerter and Bogdan Bogdanovic to knock down their shots. They should attempt to get Embiid into foul trouble. And when the double teams come to Trae, everybody needs to be ready to get the ball from him fast.

Game 3 is sure to be fun.

HAWKS WIN

Atlanta, despite being underdogs, will get the win. They now lead the series 2-1, as a big Trae day guides them.

Sports Writer by day, Sports Broadcaster by night. When I’m not doing either of these things, I’m probably playing pickup basketball at the park, or watching whatever NBA game is on the evening’s slate. There is not a day that goes by where I don’t try and learn more about the players in today’s league, as well as the history of them. I’m considered to be an anomaly with my sports fandoms as a Cavaliers, Ravens and Nationals fan.
