Don’t miss the ACC Power Rankings Week 1 at Basketball Articles

1-Duke Blue Devils 4-0

The Blue Devils could not have started the season any better. Coach K’s new batch already owns a win over Kentucky and have avoided any let downs since. You can excuse the thin victory over Campbell as it was their third game in five days.

2-North Carolina Tar Heels 3-0

The Heels have yet to play anyone of consequence but Caleb Love’s anticipated bounce back season has started off on a good note. Brady Manek has made a seemingly seamless transition into the program and played very well.

3-Virginia Tech Hokies 3-0

Storm Murphy has been sensational since rejoining his once former coach. Keve Aluma and Justyn Mutts might be the most underrated frontcourt in the entire country. It appears that Mike Young has this program humming.

4-Syracuse Orange 2-0

With 21 made triples in their two games, Syracuse is living up to their preseason expectation. Buddy Boeheim is averaging over 20 points per game through two games while brother Jimmy has been incredibly efficient. Jesse Edwards looks like one of the best defensive big men in the conference and the anchor of the Syracuse zone.

5-Florida State Seminoles 1-1

The loss to Florida was disappointing but it is not a bad loss, especially on the road. It may take some time for transfers Caleb Mills and Cam’Ron Fletcher along with star freshman Matthew Cleveland to get acclimated.

6-Notre Dame Fighting Irish 2-0

Mike Brey’s group looks to be loaded in the back court. Freshman Blake Wesley has been better than expected, leading the team in scoring in the season opener. Cormac Ryan and Dane Goodwin have picked up the slack while Prentiss Hubb has struggled to start the season. Yale transfer Paul Atkinson has also been fantastic in Notre Dame’s first two games. When Hubb and Laszewski find their groove this team is going to be very dangerous.

7-Clemson Tigers 3-0

Clemson has been surprisingly good so far this season. The Tigers have shown good depth with three different leading scorers in their first three games. Al-Amir Dawes has been doing more scoring than distributing but that has yet to be an issue, especially when he’s shooting over 52% from behind the arc.

8-Louisville Cardinals 2-1

Losing to Furman isn’t as bad of a thing as some might think. You’re talking about a team that has won 91 games since 2017-18. However, they weren’t exactly impressive in the season opener against Southern either. I can’t put a whole lot of stock in the win over Navy even if the midshipmen did defeat Virginia.

9-Virginia Cavaliers 1-2

It’s difficult not to drop Virginia even further than the #9 spot. The loss to Navy was disappointing to say the least but the Wahoos were boat raced by Houston right from the tip on Tuesday night. Virginia is shooting just 31% from deep while allowing opponents to shoot just a shade under 46% from behind the arc.

10-North Carolina State Wolfpack 3-0

There is something to be said for a team that wins the games on their schedule. There is also something to be said when those games are closer than they should be. The loss of Manny Bates is huge (pun intended) but not overly surprising given his history. Dereon Seabron and Casey Morsell have been great while freshman Terquavion Smith has been really good off of the bench.

The Rest:

11-Georgia Tech

12-Miami (FL)

13-Wake Forest

14-Boston College
