Heading our way Tuesday night will be one of the most exciting games of the season and a potential first-round playoff matchup in the west.

The New Orleans Pelicans will be on the road to take on the Los Angeles Lakers. Zion Williamson will be able to take on LeBron in this game and it could be a preview into the future.

LeBron and the Lakers have been leading the western conference all season, so it will be an exciting matchup to see this up and coming talent going up against the seasoned veterans.

The Los Angeles Lakers are -8 point favorites in this contest with the over/under set at 239.5.

A strong core of the future

We all know about Zion Williamson, and he has been as good as advertised since returning from his off-season knee surgery.

The unsung heroes of the Pelicans is this young core they have put together. Lonzo Ball has evolved his game and taken it to another level, while Brandon Ingram just played in his first all-star game.

Other players like Josh Hart and savvy veterans like Jrue Holiday, JJ Reddick and Derrick Favors make this team a healthy combination of leadership and youth.

I love how well Holiday fits with this lineup. Lonzo is the true point guard, but like Holiday is perfectly capable in a role as an off guard.

With Zion leading the charge, the team has some promise to be set up for years into the future.

The of King of LA is leading the west

When LeBron James went west last season to join the Lakers, many people where questioning his decision with such an unsuccessful season.

Now, a year later, with Anthony Davis by his side and more veterans filling out the roster, the Lakers are the leaders of the western conference and legitimately look like one of the best teams in the NBA.

Any team with LeBron and Davis is going to be a contender, but I think the players like Danny Green, Alex Caruso and Dwight Howard have been incredible in their roles and take this team to the next level.

The consistency they have been able to get from their non-star players has kept this team at the top of the west.

LeBron grabbing the throne in Los Angeles has been one of the most underrated stories of this NBA season. For him to care this much about the regular season is something we aren’t used to seeing and it is exciting to watch every night.

Lakers blow the Pelicans out of the gym

The Lakers are pulling a pretty decent line in this game, and I think they will be able to get out ahead early in this one.

LeBron and Davis’ play this season has been unmatched by any other duo in the NBA and when they have it going it is hard to beat.

I think the Lakers will win AND cover in this game, and I think LeBron wants to send a message to Zion and welcome him to the league properly.

Take the  Lakers -8. Make sure to lock in your bets before tip-off on Tuesday!
