In this Nuggets vs Celtics betting preview, we will take a look of their lineup for this match.

The Denver Nuggets will be taking a trip to TD Garden to take on the Boston Celtics on February 16th.

Both teams are going through a little bit of a rocky season with Denver being 15-2 and 7th in the Western Conference and the Celtics who are 13-13 and 5th in the Eastern Conference.

Denver is coming off a great win against the reigning NBA champions, the Lakers on Sunday. The Celtics are coming off a tough loss against the Wizards with a very poor performance on the road.

These two teams are meeting for the first time since December 2019. Both teams have a bad defensive rating. The Nuggets are 16th in defense and the Celtics are ranked 15th in defense.

The Celtics offense is ranked 17th while the Nuggets offense is ranked 5th with the help of their offensive leader Nikola Jokic. Denver has won 3 straight games and has won 6 of their last 10 matchups.

Boston is on the opposite side of the spectrum losing 7 of their last 10 games. They lost their last two games to the Detroit Pistons and Washington Wizards who rank 14th and 15th in the East.

A Look at the Nuggets

Guard Jamal Murray was at first questionable before the game against the Lakers. He ended up playing and led the Nuggets with 25 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists. Murray has been performing very similarly to last season with 18.5 points, 4.4 assists, and 4 rebounds.
In 2018 Murray put up his career-high of 48 points against the Celtics in a 115-107 win.

Forward Michael Porter Jr has made a name for himself on the team as the third-best scorer. Although he has gone 2 for 13 from beyond the arc in the last two games he continues to put up good numbers averaging 15 points and 6 rebounds.

Center Nikola Jokic is currently a top candidate for the MVP award. He has been putting up incredible consistent numbers this year. Jokic is having a season, unlike any other center. He is averaging 26.5 points, 8.7 assists, and 11 rebounds.

Jokic is putting up career highs in points, rebounds, and assists this year and has six triple-doubles so far this season. He also ranks second in the NBA in player efficiency.

Taking a look at the Celtics

Guard Jaylen Brown is leading the Celtics in scoring and has played very well for them this season. He is having a breakthrough season this year and we can only expect to see even more from Brown.

This should be the year he earns his first All-Star Game selection averaging 26 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 3.4 assists.

Forward Jayson Tatum is a leader on the Celtics. If necessary he will take the game into his own hands. He and Brown are the Celtics franchise hope for the future. Tatum is coming off his worst game of the season with only 6 points against the wizards.

Besides his last game, Jayson Tatum has been putting up 25.6 points, 7 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game. He will need to have a huge game in order for the Celtics to win.

The Celtics have gone 1-4 against the spread in their last 5 games. The Celtics offense mostly consists of iso plays with Tatum and Brown. There is no ball movement on the team. Marcus Smart is out which is going to hurt the Celtics defense.

They need to find a way to stop Jokic and Murray on the court. The Celtics are slight favorites in this matchup but the Nuggets are playing much better right now and they just beat Lebron and the Lakers.
