Hello and welcome to our in-depth Nuggets vs Suns Game 1 picks!
The Denver Nuggets and the Phoenix Suns face their first match in the Western Conference Semifinals on Monday at 10pm EST. The game will take place at Phoenix Suns Arena in Phoenix, AZ.
This NBA Finals has proven to be one full of surprises; very few people could have predicted this matchup. One thing is for sure, this series will be one filled with twists, turns, and unexpected victories and losses.
Nuggets vs Suns Game 1 Preview: Projected Starters
Denver Nuggets: Facundo Campazzo, Austin Rivers, Michael Porter Jr., Aaron Gordon, Nikola Jokic
Phoenix Suns: Chris Paul, Devin Booker, Mikal Bridges, Jae Crowder, Deandre Ayton
The Nuggets and their powerful offensive forces face a formidable opponent in the Suns’ well-built defense. In the regular season, the Nuggets and the Suns faced each other three times, with the Nuggets emerging victorious 2-1.
Injuries certainly play a role in this series, with Jamal Murray out with a torn ACL and Will Barton struggling with a hamstring injury. Although they are the underdogs of the series, the Nuggets have proven to be a very resilient team, and despite the odds, they have the potential to win this series.
This series will be vital for the future of the Suns, who are hoping to make their first conference finals series since 2010. In an upset, the Suns defeated the defending NBA champions Lakers after trailing the series 2-1. In the NBA playoffs, injuries always play a huge role in what teams emerge victorious, and this is certainly the case for this series.
Chris Paul’s shoulder injury has proved to be detrimental for the Suns’ general performance throughout the playoff season. Although Paul has not missed a single game due to his injury, his performance has not been up to its usual standards, and there is a huge difference between Paul playing through his injury and Paul being at his absolute best. The faster Paul’s injury is healed, the better chances the Suns have of emerging this series as victors.
Matchup and Betting Picks
This matchup will prove to be an interesting and surprising one, but my bet for Game 1 is on the Suns. I think that the Nuggets, despite their formidable offense, will struggle throughout this game with all their injuries.
On the other side, the Suns are coming off a huge series win against the Lakers, with Devin Booker performing incredibly during the last game of the series, scoring 47 points. The Suns also have home advantage in this first game, and the enthusiasm and support of their fans will provide additional motivation for them to perform at their best.
That would be all for our Nuggets vs Suns Game 1 picks and predictions. Make sure you stay tuned so you don’t miss out on more free NBA picks in the coming days!
