With the Phoenix Suns set to take on the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 1 of the NBA Finals tonight, the betting sports world has their eyes on some interesting prop bets tonight. Below, is my top three prop bets for the opening round game.

3 NBA Finals Prop Bets for Game 1

Deandre Ayton over 11.5 rebounds (+100)

This prop bet is definitely one of the safest and best values. Deandre Ayton has been a consistent force all postseason long especially on the boards as he has averaged 11.8 rebounds a game thus far.

With “The Greek Freak” listed as doubtful for tonight’s game, I see that number only going way up. While Brook Lopez is still a decent scoring center, he has never been a good rebounder and I do not see him being able to contend with Ayton.

Portis has also been a spark in place of Giannis, but again his talent and height will be a big disadvantage over Deandre’s 6’11” frame. Until Giannis gets back, I am taking Ayton over 11.5 rebounds every game.

Chris Paul over 8.5 Assists (-140)

2021 NBA Finals Prop Bets Chris Paul

While the value of this bet is not as great as Ayton’s rebounding total, I still find it hard to believe that CP3 will not end up with at least nine assists. He is a playmaker at heart, and loves getting his teammates involved before scoring himself.

That has been a trend with Paul ever since his days in New Orleans. Giving other guys an opportunity to score only gives them confidence. With the Suns lacking very minimal Finals experience, I see this being the case even more so.

The Bucks defensively are a good team with Coach Budenholzer. Without Giannis however (The 2019-2020 Defensive Player of the Year), Milwaukee in my estimation will struggle to contain the Suns. They will have to contain guys like Devin Booker, Ayton, and all of Phoenix’s shooters. Not to mention Paul, who garners a lot of attention as well which will open up more opportunities for his teammates.

Paul so far this postseason has averaged 8.7 assists. Now that he is fully healthy coming off a shoulder injury and COVID protocols, I see that number only going up.

Mikal Bridges Over 1.5 3-pointers (-130)

Just like Paul’s Assist total, this prop does not yield as much value as Ayton’s rebound total but again, I see this bet coming to fruition pretty early in the game.
Bridges has been an unsung hero for the Suns all season long. He is a guy that does not draw a lot of attention but knocks down his shots when he gets the opportunity. In fact, Bridges has knocked down 42.5% of his three-pointers.

With CP3, Booker, and Ayton drawing most of the attention defensively, I see Mikal getting a decent amount of quality looks from downtown. Do not be surprised to see him hit two three-pointers pretty early in this game.

Just like most role players, they thrive even more at home. I see Bridges feeding off the raucous fan base just like he has all postseason in his NBA Finals debut.
