There are so many amazing pass-catchers in the NFL today, yet only three can make the All-Pro First Team next season. Let’s look at who can.
Cooper Kupp
Kupp is a Super Bowl champion now and is Matthew Stafford’s favorite weapon since Calvin Johnson. His production was an absolute joke this season, and he was especially dominant in the playoffs proving his ability to turn up when it matters most.
After winning the receiving triple crown, Offensive Player of the Year, and Super Bowl MVP, Kupp deserves to be recognized as the best receiver in the NFL going into next season. Secondaries will be sure to keep an extra eye on him next year, but his route running, IQ, and shiftiness are so dangerous that it shouldn’t matter.
Davante Adams
In Adams’ sixteen games that he played this past season, he caught 123 passes for 1,553 yards and 11 touchdowns. These stats are standard for him, which is why he’s undoubtedly a top 3 receiver in football.
No one really knows who will be throwing the ball to Adams next year; however, solid production can always be expected by him. My ideal landing spot for him is the Las Vegas Raiders, as I would love to see him team up with Derek Carr.
Ja’Marr Chase
For a wide receiver, the most important ingredient to success is having the trust of your Quarterback. The LSU connection between Burrow and Chase embodies what a true quarterback-receiver relationship should look like, and it will only continue to strengthen.
To the league’s detriment, these guys will be back with a vengeance next year after losing in the Super Bowl, and I’m expecting unfathomable production from them. He’s perhaps the best young talent that this league has
Justin Jefferson
The Vikings’ receiver is loving life in the NFL through two seasons. He already has 3,016 yards and 17 touchdowns in his young career and has become Kirk Cousins‘ go-to man downfield.
With youth on his side, the sky is the limit for the LSU graduate.
Stefon Diggs
Stefon Diggs and Josh Allen have been an exciting duo for 2 years now, but it’s time for them to take the next step. The Bills deserved to go further in the playoffs this year after their heartbreaking loss to the Chiefs and will be back for revenge.
Diggs slightly regressed this year compared to his first year in Buffalo; however, he was guarded like there were no other weapons on the Bills receiving core, which is not true. We saw Gabriel Davis explode against the Chiefs, and next season teams won’t be able to double Diggs as much. Diggs could be in for a big year, and I believe his quarterback will win MVP.
Tyreek Hill
Tyreek Hill is always such a dangerous weapon for the Chiefs given his Cheetah like speed, and he’s so lucky to have Patrick Mahomes throwing him the football. I think the Chiefs will be firing offensively like usual next season, and Hill will benefit.
He hasn’t been quite as electric as people expected he would be at this point in his career, but I believe he’s in line for a big year.
Deebo Samuel
The final receiver here, Deebo Samuel, set the league on fire this past year for the 49ers. He proved how dangerous he can be both when catching and running the football, scoring 14 total touchdowns while amassing 1,750 scrimmage yards as well. Samuel also led the NFL in yards after the catch per reception at 10.3, which verifies his skill.
Nothing suggests that he won’t have a vital role in this offense next season, and young Quarterback, Trey Lance, will love having a player that can make something happen out of nothing.
My Prediction
First Team All-Pro – Cooper Kupp, Ja’Marr Chase, and Stefon Diggs
Second Team All-Pro – Davante Adams, Justin Jefferson, and Deebo Samuel
All of these guys will get opportunities to produce, and as long as they continue to do what we have seen recently, they will. These predictions are based on players’ current situations, so depending on where Davante Adams lands, things could change.
Deebo Samuel’s situation could become more favorable as well, as San Fransisco may look to bring Aaron Rodgers back to California, where he played in college.
