FanDuel has the Lions favored by 1.5 points, The Bills are at +100 on the moneyline. Check out our Bills vs Lions pick before heading to the sportsbook!

From Thursday night to Sunday night, NFL fans will have plenty of action to bet on as the preseason really gets rolling. As part of a 3 game slate on Friday night, the Buffalo Bills grace the Motor City with their presence as they square off against the Detroit Lions.

It was two completely different stories and outcomes for these teams a year ago. The Bills won 13 games and took home the AFC East title. The Lions on the other hand only won 5 games and finished dead last in the NFC North standings.

Don’t miss your chance to see which of these teams have improved and who will take home their first preseason victory. Kickoff is set for 7 EST on Friday and the game will be televised on the NFL Network.

Bills Betting Preview: Josh Allen Leads the Way

Head coach Sean McDermott led his team all the way to the AFC Championship game last season. Unfortunately, that’s where the fun ended. They ran into the Kansas City Chiefs and were beaten, 38-24.

The Bills hope to make that next leap this season and we could easily see them sneaking into the Super Bowl. If they’re able to find a way past Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, we could see them hoist the Lombardi this season.

Most of the Bills’ offense, including their offensive line, will return for the 2021 season. Even though they were bringing so many guys back, the Bills continued to add depth to the Oline this offseason. That’s what successful programs do even when they’re very good, they add depth.

While they lost receivers, Andre Roberts and John Brown, they were able to add wiley veteran Emmanuel Sanders to their roster. While Sanders is 34 years old, paired with Stefon Diggs and Gabriel Davis, he should remain an important piece for Buffalo.

The Bills also added backup QB Mitch Trubisky to the fold. If Josh Allen goes down, Trubisky should be able to at least soften the blow for Buffalo. Trubisky should get some playing time on Friday night.

Lions Betting Preview: The New Guy Under Center

There is no fanbase in the NFL that has been as tortured as Lions fans. With Matt Stafford now in Los Angeles, their base now looks to former Rams QB, Jared Goff, for answers.

While Goff may never have the arm strength of Stafford, he does still have a chance of being a similar QB to the veteran. The 2016 number 1 overall pick is still only 26 years old and with 1 appearance, has more Super Bowl experience than Stafford.

Whether Goff can flourish without offensive genius Sean McVay remains to be seen, but Anthony Lynn and Dan Campbell are no scrubs either. With the departure of Kenny Golladay, Goff won’t quite have the weapons that Stafford had a season ago, but we will see if he can make due.

After the Lions’ defense ranked last in the NFL in total points and total yards given up last season, they decided to replace Matt Patricia and Cory Undlin with Dan Campbell and Aaron Glenn. Dom Capers and Todd Wash are also assisting on the defensive side of the ball.

With a completely revamped team both on the field and on the sidelines, DraftKings still has their win total at only 4.5 games this season, and the under has better odds to boot. Let’s see what we’re working with on Friday night before we go make a bet either way.

Bills vs Lions Pick

Folks, let’s not forget that it is the preseason. There is no way to accurately predict who’s playing and for how long unless you are the head coach of one of these teams.

FanDuel has the Lions favored by 1.5 points, likely because this is a home game for them. The Bills are at +100 on the moneyline.

Since the Bills are much deeper at basically every position on both sides of the ball, including quarterback, and they have a plus odds on the ML. That’s who we are taking. Take the Bills at +100 and make a little preseason money.
